Johns Hopkins University will be closed on June 20th in observance of Juneteenth

Update of 6/17/2022: I had forgotten that the demented and senile 46th President declared this day to be a federal holiday in June 2021.

What a joke! Such cheap virtue signalling by an ivy league school located in a major U.S. city plagued for years by poverty, crime and violence and run by an inept Dimocratic party! And what is JHU doing about this situation in Baltimore?

Just a reminder: The American Civil War was not fought over slavery, but over secession! A Civil War was not even necessary as major European countries had already and peacefully abolished slavery before the American Civil War started!

"Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S., marking the date—June 19, 1865—when the news was delivered to Galveston, Texas, that all enslaved people had been freed. Johns Hopkins University will be closed Monday, June 20, in observance of the holiday."
