America Minted 1,000 New Millionaires a Day or 379,000 people total in 2024

Good news! Be prosperous and be generous!

"The chief business of the American people is business" Calvin Coolidge!

"The United States created over 1,000 new millionaires every single day in 2024—379,000 people who crossed the seven-figure threshold, accounting for more than half of all new millionaires created globally.

This wealth explosion, driven by the S&P 500’s 25% gain and Nasdaq’s 30% leap, means that now, “everyday millionaires” with $1 million to $5 million in assets collectively control more wealth than all the world’s billionaires combined.

While just 15 centibillionaires control $2.4 trillion in assets, women are positioned to be the biggest winners in the coming “Great Wealth Transfer” of $83 trillion expected to pass between generations over the next 20 years.

America now hosts nearly 40% of the world’s 60 million millionaires, but the tiny countries of Luxembourg and Switzerland still boast the highest concentrations, where more than one in seven adults is a millionaire."

"... The nation outpaced other countries in wealth growth during 2024, with more than 379,000 people becoming U.S. dollar millionaires for the first time, according to UBS' annual Global Wealth Report, which analyzed individual wealth across 56 markets. ..."

Popemania Fuels Booming U.S. Market

Souvenirs and memorabilia everywhere! Devotional items anyone! Merchandize everything!

"Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope and a native of Chicago, has sparked a fast-growing cottage industry of merchandise and tourism centered on his historic election.

From “Da Pope” shirts and Sox jerseys to bobbleheads and prayer cards, American demand has turned the papacy into a booming brand.

Chicago is the epicenter of this frenzy, with local businesses rolling out themed food and memorabilia, while Rome sees a spike in U.S. tourism. See more merchandise here.

Vatican officials are expected to clamp down on the use of the papal image, perhaps within weeks, according to Italian news reports."

This quite a roster! Unfortunately, the news media are not really reporting about this! Very regrettable!

The business of America is business comes easily to mind!

According to a Google search result:

Here's a list of some of the notable business figures who joined President Trump on his Middle East trip:

Elon Musk: CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who has worked closely with Trump during his second term.

Jensen Huang: CEO of Nvidia, a leading AI chip manufacturer.

Alex Karp: CEO of Palantir, a data analytics company.

Jane Fraser: CEO of Citigroup.

Larry Fink: CEO of BlackRock, an asset management firm.

Jenny Johnson: CEO of Franklin Templeton Investments.

Dara Khosrowshahi: CEO of Uber.

Dina Powell McCormick: Partner at BDT & MSD Partners.

Steve Schwarzman: CEO of Blackstone, an asset management firm.

Arvind Krishna: CEO of IBM.

Ruth Porat: CIO of Google.

James Quincey: CEO of Coca-Cola.

Reid Hoffman: Executive Chairman of LinkedIn.

Francis Suarez: Mayor of Miami.

Chung Yong-jin: Chairman of Shinsegae Group, a South Korean retail conglomerate.

Note: This is not an exhaustive list, and many other business executives from various sectors also joined the trip, according to CNBC. The focus of the trip was on strengthening economic ties and securing investment deals with the Gulf states, which explains the strong presence of business leaders. "

What are likely the three main goals of President Trump's trade tariffs

In summary (in no particular order):

  1. Opening up global foreign trade to more free trade again
  2. Extra government revenue to pay down in the meantime unsustainable government debt
  3. Extra government revenues to implement a tax reform to lower taxes on businesses and individuals.
President Trump is a mover and shaker hopefully in the sense of restoring more classical liberalism and the chief business of the American people is business.

America first again. Make America great again. Since 1945, the US has heavily supported Western allies and other allies in the Cold War and beyond. It is high time for the US to cut cords and require its allies to stand up on their own.

Walmart becomes biggest company to roll back DEI policies

Good news! Racism like DEI has no place in American business!

"... Walmart told the Associated Press that it would monitor third-party items they sell to ensure that they do not include sexual or transgender products aimed at minors, and that it would no longer consider race or gender a factor when offering contracts to suppliers.

The family-friendly retailer also claimed that it will be limiting its grants to Pride events ...

Walmart said it will also be ending its racial equity training programs for staff, per CNN, and will not extend its Center for Racial Equity, which was slated to last five years and was established in 2020. ..."

Amazon vs. Temu: Prime Day heats up e-commerce price war

Competition is good, more competition is better!

"Amazon.com is offering deep discounts on electronics, household items and more for its Prime Day sales event amid growing competition with Chinese rival Temu, as inflation sends consumers hunting for bargains.

From 40% off Samsung TVs to 30% off the Apple Watch, Amazon is dropping prices on a wide range of products over the two-day sale through Wednesday. Some Amazon-branded products are selling at a 70% markdown."

The Cult of Costco: How It Built An Empire Of $1.50 Hot Dogs

What a success story! We are members too! It is about treasure hunters!  Costco is going global!
I have three complaints:
  1. Since Covid-19, the Supreme Pizza was removed. I complained to Costco about it, but to no avail.
  2. The sliced Provolone cheese 2 pounds was removed. I also complained about this.
  3. The humus is now only available as a humus combined with pine nuts. Previously it used to be plain humus plus this luxury, pricier variant.

That is impressive!

Elon Musk Wants to Move Tesla’s Incorporation From Delaware to Texas

Elon Musk, a man of action and the owner of the tunnel-building venture Boring! There is not much boring about this guy! 😊

Delaware, the same state that voted for decades again and again for the lifelong pathological liar Joseph Biden to represent this state in the U.S. Senate!

"The electric-vehicle maker’s CEO announced a shareholder vote on the issue two days after a court in Delaware—a corporate haven known as the incorporation capital of America—struck down his $55.8 billion compensation package from the company. Musk, who has 30 days to file an appeal, tweeted that no one should incorporate a company there. Tesla didn’t respond to a request for comment. The EV company, formerly headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., and Musk’s tunnel-building venture Boring are based in the Lone Star State; his rocket company, SpaceX, has significant operations there; and Musk is building his own Texas town."

The chief business of the American people is business. High time to let non lifetime career politicians take over.

Trump is too old for a second term! He would be about 82 when he leaves office.

The blessings of Amazon

The online Walmart is so amazing! It encourages people to become a couch potato (just kidding) or do better things than spending time to go shopping.

I order only very infrequently from Amazon like once or twice a year, but this may change going forward.

I ordered four very different products four days ago. The pricing of the products was very competitive if not cheaper. Selecting these products online was a breeze. Since I do not like to pay for shipping fees, my delivery was scheduled for 6 days later.

Today, the shipping already arrived at my door step, two days earlier then Amazon initially scheduled.

At 1:19 PM I received an email that my shipment was delivered. I ran to the door to thank the delivery person, but he/she and the Amazon truck was already gone!
