China Has Quietly Accepted a Nuclear North Korea

A concerning development if confirmed!

Did China indeed relent to the evolving closer cooperation between two rogue states, i.e. Russia under Putin the Terrible and North Korea?

"Xi Jinping has made a consequential strategic choice. Faced with Kim Jong Un’s growing partnership with Vladimir Putin, Xi is rebuilding Chinese political and economic support for North Korea and abandoning the pretense that Beijing is seriously pursuing its denuclearization.

The result will not be a more restrained Kim. It will be a more dangerous one.

Kim is now positioned to draw military assistance and treaty protection from Russia while continuing to receive the trade, money and political backing that only China can provide. As his nuclear arsenal and conventional forces improve, he will have stronger incentives to take risks against South Korea and the United States. Most alarmingly, should China initiate a conflict over Taiwan, Kim could see an opportunity to exploit America’s distraction. ...

For years, Chinese officials claimed that Beijing wanted both stability and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula. Stability was always the higher priority, but China at least supported denuclearization negotiations and some efforts to constrain North Korea’s weapons programs.

That policy is effectively over.

During Xi’s June 2026 visit to Pyongyang, the first by a Chinese leader in seven years, Xi  omitted any meaningful reference to denuclearization. Premier of North Korea Pak Thae-song met with Xi in early July, where Xi again did not mention denuclearization. The silence was striking.
These instances followed other notable omissions, including at the 2025 North Korea-China summit.
The last time a Chinese official explicitly called for North Korean denuclearization was in May 2024 at the South Korea-China-Japan trilateral summit.  Beijing has tacitly accepted North Korea as a permanent nuclear power, hoping that in exchange it will regain influence over Kim.

Xi’s shift reflects the emergence of Kim’s “Russia option.”

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine [in 2022], North Korea has become an important supplier of artillery ammunition, ballistic missiles and military personnel to Moscow. In return, Russia has offered Kim economic support, diplomatic protection, military cooperation and assistance with missiles, satellites, air defenses and other advanced capabilities. Their 2024 comprehensive strategic partnership treaty includes a mutual-assistance commitment. ..."

China-Russia-North Korea Combined military Exercises to provoke South Korea

What rogue states do best!

When will the Korean peninsula be reunited again like Germany in 1990!

"The PRC, North Korea, and Russia conducted aerial and naval incursions into South Korea’s ADIZ and near the NLL on June 27, provoking a South Korean response. The PRC and Russia are signaling their desire for greater cooperation with North Korea and willingness to encroach upon South Korean territory."

Five people plead guilty to helping North Koreans infiltrate US companies as 'remote IT workers'

What is this little fat man, i.e. dictator Kim Jong Un, up to? 😊

Does North Korea do anything positive to improve humanity?

Then there are the several thousand North Korean mercenaries fighting in the Ukraine for Putin the Terrible!

According to Google: "Kim Jong Un is approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. His weight has fluctuated, and reports from various times place him anywhere from 264 pounds (\(120\) kg) to over \(300\) pounds (\(140\) kg)."

According to Google: "While there is no exact number of starving North Koreans, recent reports estimate that over 10 million people are undernourished and face severe food insecurity. This is equivalent to more than 40% of the population."

When will the Korean peninsula be reunited? Germany was reunited in 1990!

"Five people have pleaded guilty to helping North Koreans defraud U.S. companies by posing as remote IT workers, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Friday.

The five people are accused of working as “facilitators” who helped North Koreans get jobs by providing their own real identities, or false and stolen identities of more than a dozen U.S. nationals. The facilitators also hosted company-provided laptops in their homes across the U.S. to make it look like the North Korean workers lived locally, according to the DOJ press release.

These actions affected 136 U.S. companies and netted Kim Jong Un’s regime $2.2 million in revenue, said the DOJ. ..."

Korean tensions flare as Seoul, Pyongyang take opposing sides in the Russo-Ukrainian War

How close are we to World War III? How many countries are involved in the Russo-Ukrainian War? Probably, several dozens.

"More than 70 years after the nominal end of the Korean War, North and South Korea find themselves at loggerheads 7,000 kilometers west of their heavily fortified border -- on opposing sides of the war in Ukraine.

Moscow and Kyiv have looked to Pyongyang and Seoul, respectively, for munitions and nonlethal support as the conflict in Ukraine grinds its way through a third year since Russia invaded its neighbor. ..."

"... The stakes have also been raised significantly on the Korean Peninsula, scholars say."

Documents found on a North Korean server suggest US movie studios may have unknowingly outsourced animation work

What a curious piece of news about the hermit kingdom! Don't they say Kim Jong-un likes to watch cartoons in his spare time? (just kidding)

Sketches from US animation studios found on North Korean computer server | CNN Politics North Korean illustrators and graphic designers appear to have helped produce work for US animation studios unbeknownst to those companies, suggesting that unreleased episodes of a few popular American cartoons could include work from one of the most closed-off economies in the world.

US soldier intentionally crossed North Korean border

I think this is quite possibly a publicity stunt by this young soldier. He was just in prison for two months. Let him stay behind the iron curtain for a while! Might be a life changing experience for him.
"Officials in Seoul have confirmed that King, a Private 2nd Class, recently spent two months in prison in South Korea previously for assault charges."

South Korea scrambles jets, fires shots after North Korean drone flies near Seoul

When will the Korean peninsula finally be reunited like Germany? This horrible relic of the Cold War!

The dictatorship of North Korea would have long collapsed without the long time support of e.g. dictatorships like Russia and China!

"South Korea deployed jets and attack helicopters on Monday after five North Korean drones crossed into its airspace, including one that made it to the northern edge of the capital, Seoul.
The military fired 100 rounds from helicopters but did not shoot the drones down, the BBC reported. One of the attack planes involved later crashed, but its two pilots were unharmed.
A South Korean official said the military had lost track of the unmanned vehicles, but they are not in flight.
South Korea suspended take-offs and landings at two of its airports for about an hour during the incursion.
Tensions are increasing on the Korean peninsula as the North launched a record number of missiles this year in what Communist officials said were practice to attack the South and the United States.

North Korea last sent a drone across the border in June 2017."

Extreme weather events and military conflict over seven centuries in ancient Korea

Now we learn that Global Warming/Climate Change already plagued early kingdoms of the Korean peninsula for seven centuries between ! (Caution: irony). These researchers believe their findings would help to mitigate our times of phony 'climate crisis'. You can't make this up!

This research was based on the Samguk sagi (History of the Three Kingdoms) completed in 1145 AD covering roughly the period 100 BC to 700 AD.

"... Originally commissioned by King Injong of Goryeo in the 12th century, the Samguk Sagi provides scientists access to rare historical data involving a set of stable political entities for which both weather and conflict events were recorded over several centuries. ...
The researchers’ work sheds new light on the relationship between climate change and war. ..."

"... Since climate change is leading to increased frequency of extreme weather events, a better understanding of the implications for labor-intensive armed conflict can help with mitigation strategies."
