What Each State Pays in Federal Taxes per individual

"Delaware leads the nation in federal tax revenue per person at $24,575 per resident in 2023, followed by Massachusetts at $21,747 and Minnesota at $20,728, according to a new study.
Washington D.C. is a major outlier, contributing $54,612 per resident—more than double any state—due to its concentration of high-income earners and government-related economic activity.
West Virginia, Mississippi and New Mexico paid the least per capita, each contributing under $6,000 per person. ..."
