US Secretary of State Rubio ratchets up pressure on NATO at key summit over their failure to assist the US in the war on Iran
Yes, the European NATO members (especially France, the UK, and Germany) failed miserably to assist President Trump's war on the theocratic dictatorship of Iran.
As a minimum, these NATO members could have sent minesweepers to keep the Strait of Hormuz free of Iranian sea mines.
The reported denial of the use of US military bases in Europe for the war on Iran was a huge mistake by European countries!
"Secretary of State Marco Rubio is casting new doubt on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s relevance to the United States after key allies recoiled from backing Washington’s “Operation Epic Fury.”
Rubio, speaking to reporters following a meeting with foreign ministers in Sweden on Friday, contended that the raison d’etre of NATO was undermined when allies refused to allow the U.S. to use installations on their soil during a war.
“One of the arguments I always made was that these bases in the region provided us logistical options that we wouldn’t otherwise have,” Rubio said. “And when some of those bases are denied to you — during a conflict that we’re involved in — then you question whether that value is still there.”
The U.S.-NATO relationship has been increasingly strained in the wake of the war in Iran, which began on Feb. 28. President Donald Trump believes that NATO allies should have offered much more assistance, especially with regard to reopening the Strait of Hormuz. In basic terms, several of those nations say the war, started by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu without their consultation, is not their problem.
“I was never swayed by NATO,” Trump said in an interview in April. “I always knew they were a paper tiger.” ..."

Is Russia taking control of some Ukrainian drones to redirect them to fly into Baltic States to cause damage?
For some time, I have had the suspicion this is the case!

As of early May still no allied country has sent navy ships in support of the US navy campaign against Iran and in the Strait of Hormuz
I believe this information is correct or allied countries are not disclosing their involvement.
This is very shameful! This is coward! When the US needed help from its allies, they failed spectacularly! The allies provided not even mine sweeping boats or security to commercial ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz!

Yes, President Trump Can unilaterally Withdraw from NATO by John Yoo
Maybe President Trump should indeed withdraw the US from NATO! Let the Europeans do their own defense for once!
Such a withdrawal would certainly make President Trump an outstanding US president! Would be great for his legacy!
An exit from NATO would also free up the US to go forward in foreign affairs etc.

NATO and the EU are paper tigers and unreliable allies
It has become very obvious when no European country offered immediately their navy to assist the US to protect the ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz after President Trump attacked Iran.

Giorgia Meloni even refused the use of Sicily by the US military! Very disappointing!

Italy has a longstanding deal with the U.S. to allow it to use Sigonella for regular military flights, while permission for use of the base by flights not covered by the agreement must be granted by the Italian parliament.
In a speech to parliament this month, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, “The bases used by the U.S. in Italy derive from agreements signed in 1954 and which have been updated since then by various governments. According to those agreements there are technical authorizations when it comes to logistics and non-kinetic operations that do not involve, put simply, bombing.” ..."

Several ally countries rejected President Trump's request to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz
This is pretty lousy by these allies! Shame on them!
That Germany and the UK are among them is particularly despicable!
An ally may disagree with Trump's war on Iran, but to refuse to assist protecting the Strait of Hormuz with any navy ships etc. when asked by the US is very bad!
E.g. it should be in every NATO member's best interest to make sure one of the most important shipping lanes in the world is safe to pass for ships! Especially when a country run by an Islamist theocracy threatens the save passage!

Trump announces 10% tariffs on NATO nations that send military forces to Greenland. Really!
I don't think this is a good or smart idea by President Trump! Generally speaking it is a welcome sign if more NATO member countries send troops to Greenland!
Why does President Trump insist on a "Complete and Total purchase of Greenland"! I don't it makes much sense! Possibly a long term lease of parts of Greenland would probably suffice!
