Apple Wins Major Tax Battle Against EU over $14.8 billion

Good news! So much for greedy politicians!

This defeat is what the nutty EU Commissioner Margrethe Vestager deserves!

Had Ireland lost this battle with the EU, Ireland would be well advised to consider an exit a la Brexit!

"The European General Court determined European Commission officials failed to demonstrate that Apple had gained an unfair competitive advantage through the Irish tax laws."

European Commission propose a ‘right to repair’ for mobiles and laptops

Crazy European Commission! The march into socialist central planning (to borrow from Joseph Schumpeter)! Ursula Von der Leyen is coming out as a communist commissar!

"More generally [the European Commission] wants to restrict single-use products, tackle “premature obsolescence” and ban the destruction of unsold durable goods — in order to make sustainable products the norm."

"To fulfil[l] this ambition, the EU needs to accelerate the transition towards a regenerative growth model that gives back to the planet more than
it takes, advance towards keeping its resource consumption within planetary boundaries, and therefore strive to reduce its consumption
footprint and double its circular material use rate in the coming decade."
Absolutely horrible! The EU Commission is obsessed/fanatic with climate/ environment religion!

"As part of this legislative initiative, and, where appropriate, through complementary legislative proposals, the Commission will consider establishing sustainability principles and other appropriate ways to regulate the following aspects:

• improving product durability, reusability, upgradability and reparability, addressing the presence

of hazardous chemicals in products, and increasing their energy and resource efficiency;

• increasing recycled content in products, while ensuring their performance and safety;

• enabling remanufacturing and high-quality recycling;

• reducing carbon and environmental footprints;

• restricting single-use and countering premature obsolescence

• introducing a ban on the destruction of unsold durable goods;

• incentivising product-as-a-service or other models where producers keep the ownership of the product or the responsibility for its performance throughout its lifecycle;

• mobilising the potential of digitalisation of product information, including solutions such as digital passports, tagging and watermarks;

• rewarding products based on their different sustainability performance, including by linking high performance levels to incentives"

EU's new AI rules will focus on ethics and transparency follies

Look at the crazy EU Europeans again! Incompetent Vestager is responsible for digital technology. What a joke!

The EU Commission plans to shackle AI. The rest of the world will have a good laugh about the nutty and living in a bubble elitist Europeans!

So glad for Brexit! Other European countries should follow the British example!

EU's new AI rules will focus on ethics and transparency | VentureBeat: The EU will propose AI regulations that focus on ethics and transparency in a bid to distance its policies from those of China and the U.S.

EU introduces AI strategy to build ‘ecosystem of trust’

"The proposals would lead to changes in the way data is collected and shared in an effort to level the playing field between European companies and competitors from the U.S. and China."
So much wishful thinking hurts! Sounds like Ursula von der Leyen!

Does von der Leyen not look enchanting playing with the red and blue ball in front of a robot!
