The First American Pope Takes on US President Trump with Palki Sharma

Apparently, the new Pope is a lefty and/or is he aping his predecessor Pope Francis? I miss the Polish Pope John Paul II!
Palki Sharma suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Pope decries 'unacceptable' plight of Palestinians in Gaza. Really!

I say it again, I think he is a lousy American pope! Did he ever say anything about the coward mass killers and monsters of Hamas? Is he an antisemit?
Maybe the citizens of the Gaza Strip should never have allowed Hamas to become a dangerous terrorist organisation in their midst!
Maybe Reuters quoted him out of context.

Canonization of Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati, the first saints of Pope Leo XIV on 9/7/2025

Carlo Acutis was only 15 years old when he died of leukemia. It seems he was a very devoted Christian, but a saint?

I personally don't find Carlo Acutis to convincing to be declared a saint. Is this a desperate measure by the Vatican? Is the Vatican lowering its standards for canonization?

According to Wikipedia: "he created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions.". He also converted his Brahmin personal teacher and other individuals to be baptized.

Caveat: I am not familiar with the live and deeds of Carlo Acutis.

"Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will be declared saints in the Catholic Church on Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Vatican. ..."

Pope Francis' testament

A very unimpressive testament! Worse, a rather selfish testament! It is excessively and almost exclusively concerned with his burial.

I expect much more from a great pope!

He only granted a "fitting reward" to those who loved him and prayed for him. What about the rest of us?

First sentence: "... I wish to set out my final wishes solely regarding the place of my burial. ..."

Last sentence: "May the Lord grant a fitting reward to all those who have loved me and who continue to pray for me. The suffering that has marked the final part of my life, I offer to the Lord, for peace in the world and for fraternity among peoples."
