Researchers have found that intravenous administration of a nonpathogenic virus, oncolytic alphavirus M1 (OVM), suppresses the growth of glioblastoma, a lethal brain cancer, and also reverses the cancer’s suppression of the immune system. OVM triggers an immune response to cell death (ICD), restoration of the immune system, tumour microenvironment (TME) reprogramming and proliferation of immune cells that specifically target the tumour. Inborn errors of immunity (IEIs) – primary immunodeficiencies that have a single genetic cause

This is a group of over 550 rare conditions, caused by mutations in single genes. IEIs can lead to increased risk of infections, as well as inflammation, autoimmunity, allergy and in some cases, cancer. If left undiagnosed, they can lead to lifelong medical issues with potentially fatal implications. (Source)
