Very disappointing Arizona 2020 election results
At this time (11/4/2020, at about Noon MST), only 85% of the votes were counted as reported.
However, it seems that Biden won in the Barry Goldwater state! This is probably due to a significant extent to the huge net migration from other states into Arizona in recent years (especially from e.g. California).
There was also libertarian running for president in Arizona. Unfortunately, this candidate diverted at least 1.4% of the votes!
Now, AZ will have two dimocratic U.S. Senators. Horrible!
Arizona's voters approved two controversial ballot initiatives. I blogged here and here about them.
One is sadly reminded of one of Ronald Reagan's most famous quotes: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
Arizona, a state where you would have expected rugged individualism to prevail in the end succumbed to socialism and Big Government!
Time to think about moving away from Arizona! Maybe Texas?

Reagan’s A Time For Choosing Speech
I don’t think I have ever heard or watched the entire about 30 minutes long speech by Reagan before today. I probably have heard or read excerpt of it before. Thanks to YouTube and the Reagan Foundation I finally watched the entirety of this original recording of his famous speech here.
Perhaps one of Reagan's very best speeches! Goldwater most likely would have been a much better president than LBJ.
Reagan's speech is still so true today it is almost scary and it is a sad state of affairs in the U.S. Even the probably best U.S. president since President Calvin Coolidge could not reverse Big Government and the expanding socialism in this country as he had described it so vividly in his excellent speech of 1964.
