Chief Rabbinate of Israel - A great role model for term limits?
I just learnt, perhaps for the first time, that the Chief Rabbi of Israel is elected for a 10-year term! Not only that, two rabbis are elected who alternate in its presidency!
Don't you wish that we also had term limits for essentially all our elected politicians/legislators and perhaps even for government employees in Western countries?
Term limits are one of the greatest reforms of Western democracies still waiting to be implemented! Lifetime politicians and a caste of politicians have become entrenched in Western democracies!
E.g. had term limits for U.S. Senators already existed, we would probably not be suffering through the administration of the phony, compromised, pathological liar, senile and demented 46th President of the U.S.!
Next summer [2023], Israel’s chief rabbis, David Lau and Yitzhak Yosef, will end their 10-year terms. (Source)
