NYSE, Nasdaq, and CBOE Intend to close on Jan. 9 in Memory of Jimmy Carter

This is a very nice tribute to late President Carter!

"The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq separately plan to close their markets on Jan. 9 to mourn the death of former President Jimmy Carter. ..."

"... “Jimmy Carter, with humble roots as a farmer and family man, devoted his life to public service and defending our freedom,” said Lynn Martin, President of NYSE Group. “During his noteworthy post-presidential life, President Carter left an enduring legacy of humanitarianism. The NYSE will respectfully honor President Carter’s lifetime of service to our nation by closing our markets on the National Day of Mourning.” ..."

China Life Insurance, PetroChina and Sinopec to delist from NYSE amid audit dispute

This is huge and consequential news!

Why these state owned companies of a communist regime were allowed to list in the first place is strange, but it is good business.

Lenin is believed to have said "The capitalists will sell us the rope with which to hang them."

"Five Chinese state-owned companies are seeking to delist from the US amid an unresolved auditing dispute that could see dozens of mainland Chinese firms ejected from American exchanges, as ties between the two nations continue to worsen. ..."

New York Stock Exchange to Reopen Trading Floor on 5/26/20

This will be interesting! This is one of the longest closures of the trading floor ever. The closure started on March 23 (source). However, electronic trading only started on the same day.

"A limited number of traders will return to the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, two months after the coronavirus forced its closure. They must wear masks and abide by social-distancing rules, and they won't be allowed to commute by public transit."

I believe services like Lyft and Uber are not yet available in NYC! Will they use micromobility or will they form commuter groups or will they have dedicated drivers or ...?
