AI Is Hyper-Scaling Digital Inequality The next AI divide is about who gets to build, govern, and benefit. Really!

When the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) regurgitates lefty ideology and demagoguery!

Terms like "digital inequality" or "digital divide" are a giveaways! Sounds like primitive communist dialectic!

To look at this issue from a country by country perspective is already a serious flaw!

Given all the open source models, cloud computing etc. that are out there, this technological revolution of AI is probably the most accessible and disseminated technology in human history!

Caveat: I did not read the  whole article.

The FPGA Chip became an IEEE Milestone

Good news! First developed in the 1980s.

"Many of the world’s most advanced electronic systems—including Internet routers, wireless base stations, medical imaging scanners, and some artificial intelligence tools—depend on field-programmable gate arrays. Computer chips with internal hardware circuits, the FPGAs can be reconfigured after manufacturing.

On 12 March, an IEEE Milestone plaque recognizing the first FPGA was dedicated at the Advanced Micro Devices campus in San Jose, Calif., the former Xilinx headquarters and the birthplace of the technology. ...

The FPGA architecture originated in the mid-1980s at Xilinx, a Silicon Valley company founded in 1984. The invention is widely credited to Freeman, a Xilinx cofounder and the startup’s CTO. He envisioned a chip with circuitry that could be configured after fabrication rather than fixed permanently during creation. ..."

Spatial Web standard 2025: Transforming Device Interactions

Standards rule the world!

"... Today, following the social media revolution, a new phase of the Internet is emerging. The Spatial Web promises to connect a physical world full of devices, phones, wearables, robots, drones, and even AI agents. In May, the IEEE Standards Association ... ratified a set of standards (IEEE 2874-2025) that defines the Spatial Web.

The original World Wide Web introduced the idea of URLs that point to HTML files, which are accessed remotely via the HTTP standard.

Now the Spatial Web puts forward a new set of defining principles. HSML (Hyperspace Modelling Language) behaves like nouns and verbs on the Spatial Web, describing what an entity is and what it does.
HSTP (Hyperspace Transaction Protocol) behaves like the Spatial Web’s grammar, defining how each entity functions and how it can interact with others.
And the UDG (Universal Domain Graph) acts as the directory that keeps track of every entity along with its activities and relationships.  ..."

"This standard describes the services, hypergraphs, protocols, and languages that enable interoperable, semantically compatible connections between network-connected hardware (e.g. autonomous drones, sensors, loT devices, robots) and software (e.g. user agents, services, platforms, applications, artificial intelligence systems) and includes specifications for: ⎯a functional layer stack capable of fulfilling spatially defined real-world and virtual requests for digital content respectful of governance authorities and self-sovereign identity
a spatial range query and response format for requesting content or data about assets within a dimensional range 
a data ontology for describing objects, relationships, and activities
a verifiable credentialing and certification method for permissioning create-retrieve-update-delete access to devices, locations, users, and data
⎯a human and machine-readable contracting language that enables the expression and automated execution of legal, financial, and physical activities

AI Vibe Coding: Engineers' Secret to Fast Development

Is this perhaps the next iteration of software development! There have been attempts in the past like in the last quarter of the 20th century to go away from programming languages to something more abstract and descriptive.

I am not sure whether this article describes anything else but AI assisted coding, which is not the same as replacing programming languages with something more abstract and higher level.

AI assisted coding certainly has the potential to go from coding yourself to entering only tasks/functionality etc. and the necessary code will be written for you automatically in any programming language.

The Standard Model of particle physics is the current best theory of all the understood matter and forces in our universe (except gravity). The model works extremely well, but scientists also know that it is incomplete. The next generation of supercolliders might give a glimpse at what’s beyond the Standard Model.

FCC-ee would be a 91-km ring spanning underneath Switzerland and France, near the current Large Hadron Collider.
One of the proposed locations for the CEPC is near the northern port city of Qinhuangdao, where the 100 km circumference collider would be buried underground.

The Mind Reader Applied To Suspected Iranian Agents Crossing The Mexican Border

Or as we used to say in German “ich bin doch kein Gedankenleser” (I am not a thought reader) meaning I don’t know what you were thinking.

At The Cusp Of Reading A Human Mind?

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) just published an article titled “The Mind-Reading Machine” by Celia Gorman in IEEE Spectrum (July 2012). This article summarizes some of the latest advances of machines capable to read specific brain activity associated with, e.g. someone recognizing a person on a picture.

This is just another recent article I have read about advances in mind reading capabilities.

Iranian Agents Entering The US

From this article one also learns that the US Defense Department is already applying mind reading machines in the field. “According to Elbot (CEO of Veritas Scientific), the U.S. military used an earlier Veritas device called BrainTruth to test the thoughts of suspected Iranian agents crossing the Mexican border into the United States.”

I was stunned for a moment to read in this rather technical/scientific magazine that Iranian agents may already be entering the US. I was not yet aware of any actual cases. What are these agents up to?
