A Very Racist Remark From The First Lady Obama

During her speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she said “Slaves built the White House”.

I think this remark was racist in nature and expressed some form of supremacy!

It was a cheap slogan fishing for black votes!

This incredibly careless remark was made shortly after several police officers were killed by armed, black Americans!

Why Racist?

Had a white First Lady uttered the White House was built by whites, a storm of protest would have immediately ensued.

Why supremacist? If you think that only white people are supremacist towards other colored people, your ignorance maybe forgiven.

What we know:

1. Nobody knows exactly who and how many people worked on the White House.
2. To start with, the architect, James Hoban, was white.
3. George Washington was reported to have objected using slaves to built the White House as it would reflect badly on the new republic
4. Initially it was planned to import workers from Europe to meet labor needs. However, response to recruitment was dismal. Only then were slaves recruited to help build the White House.
5. About ⅔ of the total workforce about 600 workers were black slaves
6. About 50 workers were freed black Americans
7. That leaves about 150 of all workers who were not black. “... a workforce that included local white laborers and artisans from Maryland and Virginia, as well as immigrants from Ireland, Scotland, and other European nations.”

Just read this America’s Worst President? I nominate Barack Obama, the anti-Lincoln., which, I believe, expressed some of my assessment about President Obama much better than I could. The title and subtitle of this otherwise very recommendable article are unfortunate!

Among many other things, the author reminds us that Obama and his wife were following the racist and antisemitic pastor Jeremiah Wright for over a decade. This pastor also officiated the wedding of Barack and Michelle Obama. It did not take long for Obama to get rid of his suddenly controversial pastor.

Pure Coincidence?

On Thursday, President Obama wasted no times to hold a news conference on the latest two shootings of black people by police officers! He did not even wait until more facts were in.

Within hours later, a black man with military training, in what appears to be out of hate for white people, killed, like a sniper, several police officers and severely wounded others in Dallas, TX.

Racism In America Is A Two Way Street

Ideologues and demagogues want us to believe it is a one way street!

It was up to the first black president to acknowledge this fact forcefully and do everything in his power to address it. His was the opportunity to pursue to banish the politics and scourge of racism once and for all. Unfortunately, in his eight years in office this president and his wife actively accomplished the opposite. Both reignited what could perhaps become the third Civil War in America.

President Obama, to my knowledge, never held a press conference when a white person was killed under similar circumstances (you don’t think this happens?) or never really addressed the issue of disparate high black on black homicides and disparate high criminal criminal rates among black people.

Briefly About Obama

This U.S. President is one of the most ideologically and racially biased president in decades. He is also one of the most partisan presidents.

I don’t mind an inexperienced president to be elected to office, but I do mind if the president wastes eight years to learn nothing from his many, severe blunders in domestic, economic, and foreign policies.

His stubbornness is beyond description and perhaps even unique compared to any previous U.S. president. E.g. a U.S. president cannot choose which U.S. Congress he wants to work with or not!

Just read “Why Michelle Obama Was Wrong to Trash America at the UN” about Ms. Michelle Obama’s speech at the U.N. this week. This is, of course, not the first time that the First Lady is making a fool of herself.

Contrast her speech, e.g. with a speech given by Laura Bush at the U.N.

What A Vanity

What makes this First Lady to speak to the U.N.? She was not elected.

I just pick one of her reported remarks: “We still struggle with … harmful cultural norms that tell women how they are expected to look and act.”

What about men?

1. Don’t they have to serve in the military when they are drafted?
2. Are they not expected to come to the aide, in particular, of a woman in distress?
3. Why do men have to wear boring suits?
4. Why can’t men not bare their legs and wear sandals when going to work in summer, if they wish to do so?
5. Why are men expected to wear ties in certain jobs?
6. And so on ...

Like the editor of Reason magazine Nick Gillespie tries to tell us the opposite in “The Nigerian Schoolgirl Kidnappings Are None of Our Business”. Oh yes, they are!

It is unfortunate that the First Lady Michelle Obama has elevated the issue of Boko Haram’s atrocities to such a personal and emotional level in an address to the nation. It is understandable, but also regrettable.

Why Mr. Gillespie And Others Are Wrong!

1. Generally, there can be no tolerance towards wanton use of violence. Period!
2. No civilized society can tolerate fanatic killers anywhere in the world like Boko Haram to brutally abduct hundreds of school children
3. The least any civilized society can do is to offer help to bring down these murderous fanatics to stand trial and to end their bloody activities
4. If civilized societies do not stand up to this, then fanatics will continue and be imitated. Fanatics will be encouraged to do more savagery
5. Had the Clinton Administration shown more resolve against Osama Bin Laden, September 11 2001 would have probably never happened. Had Osama bin Laden and his ilk be kept on the run ...
6. Why should not a coalition of the willing help the Nigerian government to get rid of these violent and destructive fanatics. Such violent fanatics should be put on notice they can run, but they cannot hide!
