What if the Covid-19 lab leak hypothesis was true?

Did the Communist Party of China release the SARS-CoV-2 virus in late 2019 to interfere with the US presidential election? I bet, the scientists of the dual use research conducting Wuhan Institute of Virology knew exactly that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was very infectious, but overall rather harmless (except e.g. for immunocompromised individuals or the elderly). If it was not this institute, then this virus was released in a different way. 

Some other inconvenient facts:

1. The Chinese authorities were very reluctant to cooperate after the pandemic broke out.
2. The U.S. government was seriously compromised as it promoted and financed so called gain of function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Anthony Fauci was the greatest perpetrator and enabler of the pandemic.
3. The lab leak hypothesis (or the intentional release of the virus) was never really investigated by Western countries if I am not mistaken

Here, we performed a scoping review using publicly available, peer-reviewed journal and media reports of LAIs and instances of APELS between 2000 and 2021. We identified LAIs in 309 individuals in 94 reports for 51 pathogens. Eight fatalities (2·6% of all LAIs) were caused by infection with Neisseria meningitidis (n=3, 37·5%), Yersinia pestis (n=2, 25%), Salmonella enterica serotype Typhimurium (S Typhimurium; n=1, 12·5%), or Ebola virus (n=1, 12·5%) or were due to bovine spongiform encephalopathy (n=1, 12·5%). Will the truth about the origin of SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 finally come out? How about a lab leak! As I have blogged here frequently, it was known latest by mid-2020 that this virus was extremely infectious right from the very beginning and the first cases were reported coming from the Wuhan Institute of Virology!

Why did the U.S. government finance and get involved with viral research at this WIV? Was this research legal in the U.S.? So why did Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins suppress the lab leak hypothesis in favor of zoonotic origin?
