More Hospitals/health systems Dropped Medicare Advantage in 2025 totalling 33/40

Bad news!

"Thirty-three hospital systems are dropping their Medicare Advantage (MA) contracts, reports Becker’s Hospital Review.

The publication has been monitoring participation rates for several years. In 2024, citing contracts ending in 2025, Becker’s lists 33 hospitals as becoming “out of network” for Medicare Advantage contracts.

In 2023, 13 hospitals ended their contracts.

In 2024, the publication identified 32 hospitals that ended MA participation. ..."

"Among the most commonly cited reasons are excessive prior authorization denial rates and slow payments from insurers. ..."

Medicare is besides Social Security one of the worst socialist government programs in the U.S. Both of them are totally unconstitutional! Both should be repealed and phased out as fast as possible!

Medicare For None

These days, influential politicians of the U.S. Dimocratic (no misspelling) Party are demanding socialist Medicare for All!

First and foremost, like Social Security, Medicare is a totally unconstitutional, socialist program that should have never been passed as law by the U.S. Congress (1965) or should have long been declared unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court. As so often, SCOTUS failed totally to protect the spirit and content U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence! This is one reason why Lyndon B Johnson was such a horrible, socialist president in the footsteps of Franklin D. Roosevelt!

Health insurance for the elderly should have been left foremost with the 50 states as federalism would strongly suggest. State governments would have been free to subsidize health insurance for the elderly as they see fit. Federal government ought to be limited to a supporting role, e.g. block grants to individual states etc.

The one size fits all solution of Medicare for all over 65 was a terrible decision like Social Security! In general, only elderly who can truly not afford health insurance should be helped by government or private organisations.

Unfortunately, socialist programs like Social Security and Medicare have become the gateway for more socialist programs. Welcome Hayek’s Road to Serfdom!

Just watched JFK & LBJ: A Time for Greatness presented by PBS Secrets of the Dead series. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to go into any details of this video.

I suppose, this video was part of the ongoing celebration of the socialist legislation called Medicare, which passed under LBJ 50 years ago or the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Quick Notes On U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson

I consider him to be next to Theodore Roosevelt, his cousin Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson to be the worst socialist presidents of the 20th century. All these presidents have expanded big government, and big business at the expense of individual liberty, free markets, and federalism.  These presidents have enlarged presidential power and authority in unprecedented ways except for Abraham Lincoln.

I would argue that the Voting Rights Act of 1965 is another prime example of federal government overreach and federal government taking control of state and local affairs. This struggle for equal voting rights for black americans should have been fought at the state level. This certainly would have taken longer, but it would have been much healthier for individual liberty and federalism in this country!

The brute force and one size fits all solutions coming from the federal government or the U.S. Congress are detrimental to and in violation of the Declaration of Independence.

Medicare At 50 Should Have Been Repealed 50 Years Ago

This piece of legislation should have never passed the U.S. Congress! It is pure socialism of the worst kind conceivable in a federalist democracy based on the pursuit of individual liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness.

Medicare is totally unconstitutional and a hallmark of what is wrong with an ever expanding and centralizing government in Washington DC.

I would bet that healthcare would be a whole lot cheaper if the monstrosity of medicare was not around and we did not have this massive government intervention into this sector of our economy.

I hope to expand on the topic of Medicare later.

What An Humbug!

This tax is anything but a self employment tax. It is the Social Security payroll tax (12.4%) plus Medicare tax (2.9%). So as a sole proprietor I have to pay both the employer and the employee portion of the Social Security payroll tax adding up to 12.4%.

Big Government Fools Its Citizens For Too Long A Time

It is outrageous that employees pay only half the Social Security payroll tax in the U.S. as well as in e.g. Germany. This is a great deception and a great fiction implemented by big government to fool its citizens.

A Bit Of History

Once you start getting to know more about the Little Sisters you will be amazed.

They are affiliated with or are in the tradition of the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God, a religious organization approved in 1572 by the pope, which was and still is involved in creating and running hospitals for the poor and mentally ill all over the world.

The story of St. John of God is an Amazing Grace like story of a boy who was perhaps abducted from his impoverished parents, raised by foster parents on a farm, joined mercenaries for over two decades criss-crossing Europe, but then devoted the rest of his life to caring for the poor suffering from illness and mentally ill. He became the patron saint of hospitals, the sick, nurses, firefighters, alcoholics, and booksellers. Civil society or humanity would be inconceivable without people like him.

Then there is the foundress, i.e. Jeanne Jugan, of the Little Sisters. She became the patron saint of the destitute elderly. This is an amazing story as well.

Beware Of The Camel’s Nose

The Little Sisters like e.g. so many colleges in the U.S. could not resist the temptation of easy money from the federal government.

According to their website page aptly or ironically titled “Tradition of Begging”, the Little Sister’s mention “As government funds continue to dwindle it is getting harder and harder to make ends meet. Medicaid and Medicare cover only about 60 percent of our operating expenses.”. For a religious order to depend up to 60% from big government largess is a disgrace.

Now, the Little Sisters had to find out that big government in the form of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) better known as Obama Care is coming to their doorsteps imposing dictates, which violate their Christian faith.
