Misstrauen gegenüber dem Menschen: Thomas Hobbes und Sigmund Freud

Empfehlenswert!

Global temperatures may be closer to the “crucial” 1.5C warming threshold than previously thought. Really!

What a nonsense! What a pretense of knowledge and precision! Misanthropy on display!

Nobody e.g. knows exactly what the pre-industrial global temperatures were!!! Anybody, including PhD scientists, who make such claims are charlatans!

Then there was the Little Ice Age (which of course is denied and/or ignored by climate change fanatics) that only ended around 1850 or so! Would you not expect some warming after an ice age?

The ideology of "human-induced warming" [????] has warped many minds!

"Global temperatures may be closer to the “crucial” 1.5C warming threshold than previously thought, according to a new study of Antarctic ice cores suggesting that, in 2023, human-driven warming reached 1.49C above pre-industrial levels. Nature"

From the abstract:
"Assessing compliance with the human-induced warming goal in the Paris Agreement requires transparent, robust and timely metrics. Linearity between increases in atmospheric CO2 and temperature offers a framework that appears to satisfy these criteria, producing human-induced warming estimates that are at least 30% more certain than alternative methods. Here, for 2023, we estimate humans have caused a global increase of 1.49 ± 0.11 °C relative to a pre-1700 baseline."

PNAS: Earth at risk: An urgent call to end the age of destruction and forge a just and sustainable future. Really!

How many times will this hysteria and alarmism be repeated! This is a case of misanthropy

This is a open socialist call for Big Government to run our lives! And this time it is the prestigious Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences spreading and promoting this nonsense! Disgusting!

During my lifetime, I have seen this kind of alarmism and hysteria many times over the last five decades.

This is not science, but pure propaganda and demagoguery! Worse it is like medieval superstition!

This article was even featured in their latest biweekly email newsletter!

From the abstract:
"Human development has ushered in an era of converging crises ["???]: climate change, ecological destruction, disease, pollution, and socioeconomic inequality. This review synthesizes the breadth of these interwoven emergencies and underscores the urgent need for comprehensive, integrated action. Propelled by imperialism [???], extractive capitalism [???], and a surging population, we are speeding past Earth's material limits, destroying critical ecosystems, and triggering irreversible changes in biophysical systems that underpin the Holocene climatic stability which fostered human civilization. The consequences of these actions are disproportionately borne by vulnerable populations, further entrenching global inequities. Marine and terrestrial biomes face critical tipping points [???], while escalating challenges to food and water access foreshadow a bleak outlook for global security. Against this backdrop of Earth at risk, we call for a global response centered on urgent decarbonization, fostering reciprocity with nature, and implementing regenerative practices in natural resource management. We call for the elimination of detrimental subsidies, promotion of equitable human development, and transformative financial support for lower income nations. A critical paradigm shift must occur that replaces exploitative, wealth-oriented capitalism with an economic model that prioritizes sustainability, resilience, and justice. We advocate a global cultural shift that elevates kinship with nature and communal well-being, underpinned by the recognition of Earth’s finite resources and the interconnectedness of its inhabitants. The imperative is clear: to navigate away from this precipice, we must collectively harness political will, economic resources, and societal values to steer toward a future where human progress does not come at the cost of ecological integrity and social equity [???]."

Could sharing your bed with your pets be keeping you from getting a good night’s sleep? A rhetorical question?

Also called zoophilia! Why is the Z like zoophilia missing in LGBTQ? Caution: satire.

What do animal rights activists have to say?

Zoophilia has a long history in human art across the world!

Or is it sometimes a form of misanthropy?

"Sleeping with your dog in the same room could be negatively affecting your sleep quality, according to my team’s recently published research in Scientific Reports. ..."

Could sharing a bedroom with your pets be keeping you from getting a good night’s sleep?

Notes on Misanthropy

I venture to guess that misanthropy explains or contributes significantly to what is going on concerning culture and society in Western countries!

Misanthropy is probably the best and shortest explanation why Western voters prefer an all powerful Big Government over individual liberty and responsibility! To many citizens don't trust their fellow citizens so let Big Government take care of it! Very regrettable! Very immature! Human intellectual evolution is slow like molasses or slower!

Other examples: Extreme forms of environmentalism. The extreme longing for pets in Western societies.

Beware Of Misanthropes And Nihilists In Our Midst

Posted: 5/5/2019

I wish, I had more time to flesh out this post.

Now, that I (homo sapiens) have roamed this planet for over 50 years, I come to realize more sharply that many of our controversial debates of our times can be reduced to that a significant number of opponents or advocates of one side of the debate are either misanthropes and/or nihilists.

Combined with the incomprehensible prevalence of superstition and ignorance you can understand and participate in current and past debates much better.

With the waning influence of most world religions (at least in Western countries) and the search for new faith/purpose/meaning or the widespread adoption of pseudo religions (e.g. climate and environmental protection), human discourse can only get worse, before it gets better again.

Perhaps, we ought to learn more from the Jewish people: Despite their tragic history and internal strife over many issues, they seem to be overall optimistic, life affirming people. Just take as an example the famous book by Victor Frankl “Man's Search for Meaning”. And he is by far not the only Jew who tried to convert the Holocaust into a love of life and God is stronger than any evil.

On Albert Einstein's God Letter

Posted: 12/8/2018

Preamble

I have previously blogged that Albert Einstein was a stupid socialist.

Briefly About The Letter

Written by Einstein at the age of 74 in 1954 (one year before his death) to Eric Gutkind after reading his book, Choose Life: The Biblical Call to Revolt. In early December 2018, this letter was sold at auction for $2.9 million.

Unfortunately, I do not remember ever having read this short letter before.

Was Einstein A Misanthrope?

In this short 1.5 page letter, Einstein writes (emphasis & commentary added):
  1. “... The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness ...”
  2. [So much arrogance and ignorance coming from Einstein! God is much more than a word! Believing in something like God is a strength of human beings not a weakness by any stretch of imagination. Was Einstein a misanthrope?]
  3. “... the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish ...”
  4. [So much arrogance and ignorance coming from Einstein! The Bible contains some of the greatest stories about humanity ever written. There are too many to mention here and I am not a Bible expert, but the just the story of David & Goliath or Jesus wrote cast the first stone if you are innocent and so many more. Was Einstein a misanthrope?]
  5. “... No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this ...”
[Einstein is here referring to the other above quotes. So disappointing that Einstein was such a dumb man. Einstein had a huge attitude problem!]
  6. “... For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstition ...”
[How infantile was Einstein at the end of his life? Were these expressions of severe senility or did he harbor such opinions most of his life?]
  7. “... And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong ... although they are protected from the worst cancers by a lack of power. Otherwise I cannot see anything “chosen” about them. ...”
[Again Einstein’s arrogance and ignorance is incredible. The Jewish people have e.g. contributed so much to civilization over thousands of years that Einstein’s contributions to physics are almost negligible in comparison.
Einstein is also reported as saying "Without 'ethical culture' there is no salvation for humanity." (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein). Where did Einstein think ethics, life, or even the universe were coming from?

Einstein Is Highly Overrated

The more I read about Einstein’s life outside of physics, I begin to sense that his nimbus and his popularity is highly overrated. Outside of physics, Einstein was certainly not such a genius!

What Is Atheism?

Posted: 10/31/2015  Updated: 7/20/2018, 7/18/2018, 4/22/2017

Update Of 7/18/2018

Atheism is not only the least plausible of all religions, it is probably also a very irrational one.

Just ask an atheist to explain:
  1. Ex nihilo nihil (from nothing nothing)
  2. Why is there such a beauty among the living (all forms of life), the universe, and mathematics? Could it be that a creator has been involved?
  3. Why most people would agree that on balance the good wins over the evil in our lives and over time. Is this just make belief or wishful thinking or is this perhaps a deeper principle. If latter, then an atheist would have some difficulty to explain why the balance is not neutral or why evil does not win
  4. The value of life and human life in particular? I am afraid that too many self proclaimed atheists probably turn out to be misanthropes

Update Of 4/22/2017

Saw a quote today on Facebook attributed to commentator Charles Krauthammer: “Atheism is the least plausible of all theologies”
I could not have said it any better!

Original Post

The short answer is: Atheism is itself a faith or a religion!

Environmentalism = Fanaticism + Misanthropy + Totalitariansim

Posted: 5/2/2015

I would say that this equation above sums it up quite well especially when we are dealing with extreme environmentalism.

Many environmentalists are fanatic and single minded. Emotions trump reason. Environmentalism has become the religion of our time. Deep seated intolerance is standard practice.

Many environmentalists dislike other human beings or believe in the inherent evil nature of humans.

Many environmentalists demand an all powerful state as a solution.
