Pilotless air taxi gains approval to start commercial flight operations in two large cities of China

Good news!

China is pushing the envelope! While President Trump uses the old fashioned and crude cudgel of trade tariffs to gain an advantage for the US.

"Tickets for autonomous flights over two tourist spots in China [Guangzhou and Hefei] should go on sale shortly. China's civil aviation authority has given the green light for urban air mobility outfit EHang to begin low-altitude commercial operations with its EH216-S eVTOL. ..."

Utah’s empty parking lots could see future drone, air taxi takeoffs

Turning city parking lots into airports! Why driving when you can fly!

"The Utah Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division has issued its Legislature-requested report on “advanced air mobility,” which gives a rough outline for the rollout of “vertiports” across the state.

“Vertiports” are vertical take-off and landing facilities. The report presents data from the Wasatch Front Regional Council on underutilized parking lots, including those at large shopping centers that could be repurposed for vertiports “simply by rearranging paint and lighting.” ..."

Flugtaxi: Singapur empfängt Volocopter mit offenen Armen Schon in drei Jahren will Volocopter mit seinen Flugtaxis Gäste durch Singapur fliegen. Ab 2026 soll es ein ganzes Streckennetz geben. Das Start-up verhandelt auch mit weiteren Städten.
