Milei's Latest Gamble to Save Argentina's Economy by opening up Argentina to mining and more federalism

Recommendable! Is it a gamble? I don't think so! It makes a lot of business sense!

The video points out e.g. that neighboring Chile has a lot more mining activity than Argentina although Argentina has plenty of natural resources as well to be mined.

Alaska’s new antimony mining rush

Good news!

"Until recently, antimony, which is often found in gold mines, was treated as detritus by gold miners. But that began changing last year, when China put in place heavy restrictions on exports of the element. That has led to prices quadrupling from two years ago, squeezing defense companies, which use antimony to harden bullets and strengthen armor-penetrating projectiles. Now, miners are dusting off sites that last produced antimony during the 20th century."

Durable steel wheels could replace rubber tires on large, heavy mining vehicles

Amazing stuff! What about our cars? Too many pavement repairs? 😊

"For nearly a decade, a Phoenix, Arizona-based outfit has been working on a smart replacement for the giant rubber tires that go on heavy mining vehicles – think haul trucks, excavators, and bulldozers that can weigh dozens of tons. The descriptively named company, Global Air Cylinder Wheels (GACW), is inching towards a commercial launch of its airless wheels, and it might be on to something big.

The trouble with rubber tires, especially on heavy vehicles that operate in harsh conditions, is that they wear out quickly. In the case of working mining vehicles, that means replacing tires every 6-9 months, and GACW estimates this can work out to as much as US$7 million in tire costs for a single mining truck over its lifetime. ..."

Airless wheels for mining trucks promise big savings

GACW says its Air Suspension Wheels can last as long as the vehicles they're fitted on, and save up to 60 percent of what you'd spend refitting tires on them over that time

We don’t need deep-sea mining, or its environmental harms. Here’s why. Really!

A manifest of a bunch of nutty professors (globalism, environmentalism) in alarmism and hysteria! Of course, thes professors also exploit the indigenous people for their propaganda and demagoguery.

Finally, after several decades being fairly limited deep sea mining, humans will be able to do commercially viable deep sea mining on a larger scale with current, more advanced technologies like robotics.

Human ingenuity will provide the means to make deep sea mining as harmless as is possible.

Since about 1947, humans were able to drill for crude oil using offshore  drilling rigs without major, lasting environmental impact. Since then many such oil rigs came online.

"Deep-sea mining promises critical minerals for the energy transition without the problems of mining on land. It also promises to bring wealth to developing nations. But the evidence suggests these promises are false, and mining would harm the environment. ...

The best course of action is a ban on international seabed mining, building on the coalition for a moratorium. ..."

Mali Seizes 3 Metric Tonnes of Gold from Canadian Mining Company Barrick

Bad news! I don't think this was a very smart move by the new military junta!
Arbitrary expropriation by a government usually does not end well!

Massive helium reservoir in Minnesota is even more 'mind-boggling' than we thought, new data suggest

Good news! Maybe one of the largest deposit in the world of this rare, but essential noble gas.

"... Despite being the second most abundant gas in the universe, helium is a scarce resource on Earth, forming only through nuclear fusion and the radioactive decay of uranium and thorium. The gas is in high demand, because it forms an essential cooling component in rockets, nuclear reactors and diagnostic medical equipment, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines.  ..."

Massive helium reservoir in Minnesota is even more 'mind-boggling' than we thought, new data suggest | Live Science New seismic data show that a helium reservoir discovered in February in northern Minnesota is larger than initial estimates indicated, inching the project closer to commercial extraction.

One of The Dirty, Deadly Secrets Behind Electric Cars

Recommendable! The huge nickel mining operations and smelter in Indonesia are powered by coal fired power plants! Not to mention the environmental damages of the mining operations! Plus unsafe working conditions.

BHP walks away from $74 billion attempt to take over mining company Anglo American

Perhaps bad news for South Africa just before the elections! What goes around, comes around! The ANC governed poorly for decades. South Africa issued a phony indictment Israel and so on!
Only about the first 2 minutes of this video are relevant!
