There have been multiple reports that AI tech companies e.g. invest in new nuclear fusion related companies or alumni found nuclear fusion related companies and so on.
There is a good chance that we will now finally succeed in making nuclear fusion a primary source of our power supply! I bet it will happen in the next 4-8 years.
Generally useful superconductivity may also be on the near horizon! I bet it may happen with the next 3-5 years.
ML & AI are pushing the frontier of the possible at increasing speed!
Here is one very recent example: Google DeepMind alumni are building tools to accelerate fusion power for the grid "Fusionality is developing control systems and simulation environments to help fusion power startups move faster."
