U.S. National Academy of Sciences: Racial disparities and climate policy. Really!

Racialize everything! Ostensible racism everywhere!

It is very disturbing when even the prestigious NAS of the U.S. disseminates such propaganda and demagoguery!

Well, the headquarters of the NAS is located in the swamp (a.k.a. Washington DC).

As if e.g. white poor people are not exposed to air pollution!

"... In the United States, racial minorities experience a disproportionate exposure to air pollution. Greenhouse gases and other air pollutants, such as particulate matter, are often produced together. So, policy that aims to reduce greenhouse gases should also reduce air pollutants, improving racial equity in air quality. Or, at least, that’s the ideal. ..."

Racial disparities and climate policy | Science Sessions | PNAS Pascal Polonik and Kate Ricke explain why reducing greenhouse gas emissions does not always improve environmental equity [???].

American Chemical Society: Get to know the ACS Inclusivity Style Guide. Really!

Horrible! Smells awfully like censorship and demagoguery! As a member I would immediately quit this society!

This is not chemistry, this is medieval alchemy!

Get to know the ACS Inclusivity Style Guide This guide can help when you want to ensure your message is welcoming to everyone in your audience

Light pollution is fixable. Can researchers and policymakers work together to dim the lights? Really!

Language is revealing! Anyone who associates light with pollution is a horrible demagogue! Again alarmism and hysteria are employed by this science journalist!

There are almost 8 billion humans roaming this planet. Many of our contemporaries still live with inadequate or no light. Thus, light use will rather go up more!

Another obvious attempt to make an elephant out of a fly!

It also appears to be one of those pseudo causes of environmentalism to please the affluent virtue signalers in Western countries.

Lighting is one of the hallmarks of civilization! Enlightenment allowed us to escape the Medieval Ages and superstition behind us.

I suspect this journalist wrote this article while her lights were turned off!

"Huge swaths of the Earth at night are awash in light—from car headlights to streetlamps to office buildings. All those lights are more than just a drain on energy resources. They disrupt the nocturnal behaviors of insects, birds, reptiles, and mammals, as well as the circadian rhythms of daytime species, including humans ..."

Coming out at work: transgender scientists share their stories. Really!

Nature journal is promoting the celebrity and prominence status of LGBTQ scientists as if they were the chosen people! Appalling!

What the heck do I care about the sexual orientation or identity of my colleague!

Hopefully, the mania and obsession with LGBTQ has reached its peak and will end soon!

I think I like e.g. the long time U.S. Department of Defense policy Don't ask, don't tell (in effect from 1994-2011) better!

Coming out at work: transgender scientists share their stories To mark Pride month, transgender scientists recount transition experiences as political landscapes turn increasingly hostile in many places.

For the first time China overtakes United States on contribution to research in Nature Index

How relevant is this information? How much did the Communist Party of China "fine tune" the results?

What about if you add the U.S. plus Europe?

India has some catch up to do! Just compare e.g. Switzerland (no. 9) and India (no. 10)

China overtakes United States on contribution to research in Nature Index Data on affiliations suggest that authors from China made the largest contribution to high-quality natural-science research in 2022.

Microsoft: Neurocompositional computing in human and machine intelligence: A tutorial (in politics)

This is one of the latest machine learning research papers by Microsoft. The last author on this paper is the Vice President of Microsoft Research, a well known  researcher with over 43,000 lifetime citations according to Google Scholar. The first author's citation count is over 34,000 and he is a professor at the distinguished elite Johns Hopkins University!

For some odd reasons, these authors chose Barack Obama, Alan Gore, and Hillary Clinton as an example on pages 38-39. This is not the first time, I encounter Barack Obama used in some kind of example in an AI/machine learning related research paper by well known researchers. I personally find this very annoying and it makes me cringe! There are probably thousands of other examples to choose from to fulfill the purpose and being as insightful etc..
