President Trump signs two executive orders targeting birthright citizenship and birth tourism

Good news! After the disastrous immigration policy (e.g. wide open borders, illegal mass immigration of at least several million individuals) of the administration of the 46th President, a correction like this is more than understandable and acceptable!

Birth tourism into the US is very popular and has been a thorny political  issue for decades.

Despite the US Supreme Court's June decision, President Trump is not giving up!

"... “We had a very unfortunate decision in the Supreme Court concerning birthright,” Trump said in the Oval Office. “It was close, but a very, very unfortunate decision. So we’re making adjustments because it’s very unfair.”

The order restricting birthright citizenship expands the definition of what children born in the United States would be ineligible for automatic citizenship, including children of “alien enemies of the United States, members of foreign terrorist organizations and large categories of people who lobby and act on behalf of foreign governments." ...

The other order directs the State Department to issue rules and guidance to stop birth tourism ... even as U.S. law already bans tourists from obtaining visas "for the primary purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for a child by giving birth in the United States." ..."

Good news! This software glitch excuse sounded phony from the beginning!

Kudos to this software company to come out and risking their business with the government of NJ!

"Just hours after New Jersey Democratic Gov. Mikie Sherril blamed a software glitch for thousands of non-citizens being registered to vote, the software company involved issued a statement disputing the claim.

IDEMIA, the software vendor for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, issued a statement saying it was the responsibility of the state government, which is completely controlled by Democrats, to verify eligibility to vote.

“IDEMIA works with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, and has for more than 40 years, to support the process through which eligible individuals may indicate their interest in registering to vote when applying for or renewing a driver’s license or state-issued identification card. IDEMIA’s role is to transmit information through the motor vehicle system,” IDEMIA said in a statement to Just the News. ..."

Good news! Just being born on US soil is not not enough to establish US citizenship. That is common sense especially when so many foreign pregnant women are trying to come to the US to give birth!

Sometimes GPS Navigation Fails In The Wrong Moment

On that day (late January 2006), my wife and I were driving in downtown Baltimore, MD to find the federal building. Our GPS navigator for some reason was not working properly this morning in the narrow downtown streets. We were circling street blocks.

A Very Special Treatment

Once we finally arrived at the federal building, I jumped out of the car, because I was at about 15 minutes or more late for the naturalization ceremony. I entered the federal building, rushed toward the front desk to address the staff and handed over my papers. Before I could finish explaining my situation, one of the staff of the front desk quickly came out of from behind the front desk and asked me to follow her. She rushed me to the elevator, she stoped the elevator that was just about to leave, telling everyone inside the elevator that I needed to get to the ceremony, and we both entered the elevator. As soon as we arrived at the right floor, she guided me to the room where the naturalization ceremony was held to make sure I did not get lost in the building. I felt very special this moment with all this attention.

The Ceremony

Inside the ceremony room were maybe 200-300 or more people, I do not remember exactly anymore.  There were many families with children and what appeared to be couples or individuals with their parents. They appeared to come from many different countries. A judge or a city official was giving a talk. Most people and myself were in awe. Unfortunately, an immigrant’s dream come true to see the US President to join the ceremony and to greet the new citizens did not happen although the White House is near by.

Aquarium And Italian Lunch

After the ceremony, my wife and I took a stroll along the beautiful harbor of Baltimore. We visited the aquarium at the harbor. From there, we went to Little Italy of Baltimore to celebrate my new citizenship with an Italian lunch, before we went home again.

A US Flag Was Flown Over The Capitol

At the time of my naturalization, I was working at the Heritage Foundation near Capitol Hill. My then boss, Mr. Bill Beach, arranged to have a US flag to be flown over the Capitol in honor of my naturalization.
