President Trump do not concede the Crimea to Putin the Terrible

There are news reports that the administration of President Trump thinks it is unrealistic to go back to the Ukrainian borders before 2014.

It would be very unwise to make this concession!

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Ukraine agreed in 1991 to give up all nuclear weapons on its territory for a Russian guarantee of territorial integrity. Putin the Terrible violated this agreement with his invasion of Crimea in 2014.

There should be a transition phase, but Russia must return the Crimean peninsula to the Ukraine! Perhaps, Russia could be allowed to maintain a navy base on the Crimean peninsula for the next several decades with an option to renegotiate etc.

Putin the Terrible is clearly the loser of his "special military operation" against the Ukraine started three years ago! The enormous casualties and material losses of Russia are unsustainable! Former neutral countries like Sweden and Finland became NATO members in the wake of this aggression etc.

Megalomaniacs and war criminals or monsters like Putin the Terrible can not be rewarded! Russia had three monster rulers over the past 100 years, the other two were Lenin and Stalin.

Four Dutch Companies and eight Individuals Found Guilty by dutch court of Helping Russia Build Crimea Bridge

Some business deals are too good! But the sentences appear to be light.

"Criminal investigations into seven Dutch companies and their directors for allegedly breaching European Union sanctions, by helping Moscow to build the bridge between Crimea and mainland Russia began in May 2018.

The companies involved are alleged to have supplied machines, machine parts and other services for the construction of the 19-kilometer-long bridge spanning the Strait of Kerch, the offences having taken place between November 2015 and the end of 2017.

It was reported on Friday that the Dutch court had found four unnamed companies and eight individuals guilty of violating sanctions imposed by the European Union after the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula by Russia in 2014.

Eight people were sentenced to community service while fines were imposed on the companies totaling €160,000 ($169,000). In addition, the financial benefit obtained by one of the companies, €71,330 ($75,270), was confiscated by the Dutch prosecutor.

This is understood to be well short of the maximum penalties available to the courts which, for individuals in breach of sanctions could be six years in prison or a fine of €82,000 euros and for companies fines of up to €820,000. ..."

Very recommendable! Very good overview of the history of the Crimean Peninsula! It was probably a huge mistake by Western countries in 2014 to let Putin the Terrible get away with the invasion of Crimea by stealth using Russian soldiers of mercenaries without Russian military insignia.

One scenario would be to negotiate a special status for Crimea to end the Russo-Ukrainian War to make it independent of Russia and the Ukraine.

Two days ago there was an illegal referendum held on the Crimean peninsula. Today we learn from the leading German weekly magazine “Der Spiegel” that the Russian Gazprom wants to drill for oil and gas on the peninsula announced by the new Crimean government.

The article reports that on Monday (3/17/2014), the new Crimean parliament voted to expropriate the Ukrainian energy companies Chornomornaftogaz and Ukrtransgaz doing business on the Crimea.
