There are news reports that the administration of President Trump thinks it is unrealistic to go back to the Ukrainian borders before 2014.
It would be very unwise to make this concession!
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Ukraine agreed in 1991 to give up all nuclear weapons on its territory for a Russian guarantee of territorial integrity. Putin the Terrible violated this agreement with his invasion of Crimea in 2014.
There should be a transition phase, but Russia must return the Crimean peninsula to the Ukraine! Perhaps, Russia could be allowed to maintain a navy base on the Crimean peninsula for the next several decades with an option to renegotiate etc.
Putin the Terrible is clearly the loser of his "special military operation" against the Ukraine started three years ago! The enormous casualties and material losses of Russia are unsustainable! Former neutral countries like Sweden and Finland became NATO members in the wake of this aggression etc.
Megalomaniacs and war criminals or monsters like Putin the Terrible can not be rewarded! Russia had three monster rulers over the past 100 years, the other two were Lenin and Stalin.
Where is the next Mikhail Gorbachev!
