Will AI drive reform of outdated and excessive copyrights in Western countries?

There is a good chance for this to happen! Exaggerated intellectual property rights have been a serious roadblock to progress!

E.g. in the US patents are in force for 20 years (why not 5-10 years?). Copyrights are in force for the life of the author plus 70 years (this is absolutely insane)!
