How strong is the urge of dictator Xi Jinping to invade Taiwan?

He is age is 72 years old.

His term is to officially end in March 2028, but who believes that. He may want to stay in power until age and health or an internal communist party revolt end his term.

How much glory and fame is he after? Or who is pushing him to invade Taiwan?

How many mainland Chinese people support a military invasion? We may never know for sure since credible, authentic public opinion surveys are rare or non-existent in communist countries.

One of the very few legitimate ways to reunite mainland China and Taiwan is by a referendum in Taiwan.

Perhaps, the strongest deterrence by Taiwan to any military invasion by mainland China is a threat to completely destroy the entire country and to leave only ruins and ashes to the invader plus a humanitarian crisis.
