Who fathered the children of Thomas Jefferson’s slave, Sally Hemings?
I thought, this was a settled question!
Sally Hemings lived to be 61-62 years old, not bad for a slave!
"A descendant of Thomas Jefferson has petitioned a Nashville court to exhume the grave of Thomas’ nephew, John Randolph Jefferson, hoping to test DNA to prove Jefferson’s brother, Randolph, not the president, fathered the children of Jefferson’s slave, Sally Hemings."
"... The Thomas Jefferson Foundation says it is a "settled historical matter" that the third president fathered several children with Sally Hemings, one of the women he enslaved on his Virginia plantation, Monticello. ...
The evidence that Jefferson had a child with Hemings comes from a widely publicized Y-chromosome DNA study published in 1998 in the journal Nature, which proclaimed "Jefferson Fathered Slave’s Last Child." The study, however, was only able to show that a Jefferson family member, not Jefferson specifically, fathered Eston Hemings, and its title was later revised.
Works points to an alternative father: Jefferson's brother Randolph Jefferson, a planter who lived 20 miles south of Monticello. DNA testing, he thinks, may prove that. ..."

President Trump MAGA-vellian reparations plan for black Americans. Really!
There are also lunatics and fools on the right hand side of the political spectrum! Here is an example!
Apparently, President Trump came out in his 2020 reelection campaign with a "Platinum Plan for Black America". Notice, he also spelled Black with a capital B in his plan. Grrr! This was an obvious attempt of crass vote buying by Donald Trump not unlike the 46th President! One can only hope that President Trump regrets this glaring mistake in the meantime! Please, President Trump don't be a fool and resist this urge to pay reparations!
President Trump (45) is also responsible that Juneteenth became a national holiday! Juneteenth is a divisive holiday to satisfy racism ideologists!
Unfortunately, slavery in all its forms has existed throughout human history in many places all over the world! Since 1776, the US, among Western countries, has made one of the earliest and most persistent and successful efforts to abolish slavery and to fully integrate the freed slaves and descendants of slavery into American society. There is no point for e.g. reparations! It is a lunatic proposal!
If the US were to pay any reparations, then perhaps African and Arab countries actively involved in enslaving Africans and in the slave trade should do the same and so on.
P.S. In case someone wonders that MAGA-vellian means. It is derived from Machiavellian.

The first Black battalion of the American Revolution | Encyclopaedia Britannica
Poorly done by Encyclopedia Britannica! What exactly happened to those slaves who fought for the American Revolution? Was it really only one Rhode Island unit? Video failed to mention that in his will George Washington asked all slaves to be released upon the death of his wife and that many of his slaves were acquired by his marriage. Plus, George Washington was not a brutal slave owner, au contraire!

Why Thomas "Blind Tom" Wiggins was the most famous black musician of the 19th century
Very recommendable!
Let's not forget it was the southern slave owner who bought the family of the little blind boy and discovered and promoted his talents. He allowed him to travel the world to perform his music to the delight of many in the audience. Who knows whether the blind boy would have a similar career under other circumstances. This slave owner probably changed the view of many people about people from Africa.
Unfortunately, the video says very little about the slave owner, who was also a secessionist.

Governor Newsom signs formal apology for California's role in slavery. Really!
Is this why this fool is not running for president instead of Mistress Kamala?
What an empty and vain gesture! California never was a slave state!
To be honest, he would probably still be much better than Mistress Kamala could ever be as president!

Black Writers of the Founding Era, an anthology featuring more than 120 writers
Can you believe it severely exploited, exhausted, beaten up and diseased illiterate slaves from Africa kept in hand shackles all the time were writers? Must be systemic racism! Caution: Irony, satire!
"Featuring more than 120 writers, this groundbreaking anthology reveals the astonishing richness and diversity of Black experience in the turbulent decades of the American Revolution
For too long, African Americans have been left out of the story of the nation’s founding, their voices absent from the memory and celebration of the creation of the American republic. Black Writers of the Founding Era—by far the richest and most expansive anthology of its kind ever assembled—restores these voices. The writings gathered here reveal the complexity and dynamism of African American life and culture in the period and show how the principles of the American Revolution were seized upon and enlarged by Black Americans from the very beginning."

Thomas Jefferson and slavery
Is it just me or why is the question how the Founding Fathers and Mothers treated slaves rarely asked nor answered? Owning slaves is one thing, but how they were treated is another.
As the long Wikipedia article below exemplifies, the relationship between Thomas Jefferson and slavery is complicated and complex.

Iconic African Benin statues were made with German metal traded for slaves
How much were Africans involved in selling other Africans into slavery? "The truth is rarely pure and never simple" quoted from Oscar Wilde's 1895 play The Importance of Earnest.
"The Benin Bronzes are among the most renowned artworks in West Africa. Interestingly, recent findings suggest they were crafted using ore mined in Germany. A new study revealed that the art was crafted from raw metal derived from "manillas"—metal bracelets or anklets traditionally used as currency in some parts of Africa.
Going back in history, manillas played a significant role in trade within West Africa and Europeans picked up on this. They started manufacturing this form of currency -- which they could produce in unlimited numbers -- and using it for trade. Particularly for the slave trade. ..."
From the abstract:
"Utilizing geochemical analysis, this study identifies the sources of European brass used in the casting of the renowned Benin Bronzes, produced by the Edo people of Nigeria. It is commonly believed that distinctive brass rings known as “manillas”, used as currency in the European trade in West Africa, also served as a metal source for the making of the Bronzes. However, prior to the current study, no research had conclusively connected the Benin artworks and the European manillas. For this research, manillas from shipwrecks in African, American and European waters dating between the 16th and 19th Century were analysed using ICP-MS analysis. Comparing trace elements and lead isotope ratios of manillas and Benin Bronzes identifies Germany as the principal source of the manillas used in the West African trade between the 15th and 18th centuries before British industries took over the brass trade in the late 18th century."
