The U.S. Does Not Need 16 Intelligence Agencies!

Posted: 1/22/2017

Hope President Trump will reform and reorganize these often politicized intelligence agencies of the U.S. There are just too many of them.

Yes, it makes sense to have specialized agencies. Whether every branch of the military needs their own intelligence service is certainly debatable.

Yes, it makes a lot of sense to have competing intelligence agencies instead of one colossal, uniform agency. But 16 agencies? Why does the DEA have their own intelligence agency or the FBI for that matter?

How much overlap and how much duplicate efforts are we actually dealing with? Many cooks spoil the broth! Please save taxpayers’ money!

I am not an espionage expert, but here a few suggestions for reform:

  1. Counterintelligence and intelligence agencies probably need to be separate
  2. Human intelligence operations probably should be separated from technical/digital intelligence operations

German Domestic Security Agency Competes With NSA

Posted: 8/7/2014

According to this article the German Domestic Intelligence Service (Bundesverfassungsschutz or Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution) has been using more than 50,000 of silent/hidden text messages to profile or track the movements of persons in Germany  just in the first six months of 2014.

Similar, the German FBI (Bundeskriminalamt) also uses this technology on a large scale. The German border protection service (Bundesgrenzschutz) would not even disclose its use of it.

Were the German officials just hypocrites when they blamed the NSA?

Getting Tired Of Snowden's NSA Leaks

How Naive Is Mr. Edward Snowden?

Espionage is perhaps the oldest profession on earth apart from prostitution.

Humans are innately curious. Who can say with a straight face he/she has never spied on anything or anybody?

Every country is spying all the time, in the past, present, and into the future. Mutually allied countries spy on each other. This is referred to as trust but verify enemies as well as allies.

Insanity Of Suspicion

It is insane to suggest or believe that the spy agency of any constitutional, democratic country of the free world would be spying on everything or anything all of its citizens are doing 24 hours a day.

Latest Leak - Online Gaming

Of course, any good spy agency would explore this new world out there for its purposes.

There is really no surprise here that the NSA spied on World of Warcraft or Second Life!

Police officers play too to find e.g. potential child molesters or child pornographers.
