Whodunit? If indeed Ukrainian special forces or irregular saboteurs pulled this off, then this would be quite a feat! And they got away with it so far.
The question is how much was the Ukrainian government involved?

Seymour Hersh: How America Took Out The Nord Stream Pipeline. Really!
I am not convinced! Sure, the demented and senile 46th President is seriously compromised by his public remarks regarding the Nord Stream pipeline. However, he is also known as a lifelong pathological liar especially about his leadership 'achievements'!
Possibly, there were other strong voices within NATO and among Western allies (e.g. UK, Poland, Norway) asking for this to happen. What if Germany even approved of this act. I don't think, such a decision would have been made by the U.S. alone. Norway, according to the author, was quite involved in the operation. Or without Norway, implied by the author, this operation would not have been possible.
It is also quite possible that e.g. Germany (possibly other European countries) was not willing to follow through with tough sanctions on Russia (e.g. no more gas imports from Russia while the war goes on).
This sabotage act certainly risked to be perceived as an "act of war" against Russia. Would the U.S. have taken this risk?
The author mentions e.g. a lot of irrelevant details. Like Norway and Denmark are the original signatories of the NATO treaty and such. He used some of the usual embellishments of making clandestine operations sound so sophisticated and advanced. So sophisticated and advanced actually that you have to wonder whether such technology was ever tried before.
Who else had an interest to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines? Russia certainly! China possibly! What about Western countries bordering the North Sea? Or why not Iran?
P.S. My Google search for this article was unsuccessful (see also screen print below). Very strange! So I used Bing and bingo the first relevant link was indeed the article.
A very nice narrative, but what is fact and what is fiction:
"... The C4 attached to the pipelines would be triggered by a sonar buoy dropped by a plane on short notice, but the procedure involved the most advanced signal processing technology. Once in place, the delayed timing devices attached to any of the four pipelines could be accidentally triggered by the complex mix of ocean background noises throughout the heavily trafficked Baltic Sea—from near and distant ships, underwater drilling, seismic events, waves and even sea creatures. To avoid this, the sonar buoy, once in place, would emit a sequence of unique low frequency tonal sounds—much like those emitted by a flute or a piano—that would be recognized by the timing device and, after a pre-set hours of delay, trigger the explosives. ... “The longer the explosives are in the water the greater risk there would be of a random signal that would launch the bombs.”) ..."

Tucker Carlson: On the presumed sabotage acts against the Nord Stream gas pipelines
If this is indeed confirmed that possibly two deliberate and man-made detonations occurred to blow up these pipelines in the Baltic Sea, then this would be a very serious international incident!
Tucker describes how the demented and senile 46th President a few months ago had threatened to do something about these pipelines. So has a hawkish senior official of the U.S. Department of State.
We are living in very dangerous times when even an escalation to a world war III can not be ruled out!

WĂ€re Olaf Scholz ein Mann mit RĂŒckrat und Mut, hĂ€tte er schon lĂ€ngst den sofortigen Bau einer direkten Pipeline in die Ukraine verlangt!
Wann werden endlich wieder neue, moderne Kernkraftwerke in Deutschland gebaut zum Trotz der Klimawahns und Coronawahns! Die sog. Energiewende ist eine unglaubliche Schnapsidee die u.a. von der SED Kanzlerin Merkel gefördert wurde!
