Who Or What Protects Humans From Zealous Animal Rights Activists?

Recent headlines reminded us that the well organized, uncompromising, and singularly  focused animal zealots of the world are getting their way again.

Germany is about to pass a law banning all wild animals from circuses. The heartwarming story of a supposedly mistreated circus bear in Germany that was then taken away from the circus was all over the media. Seaworld just announced it would not breed Orcas anymore and so on.

Schock Propaganda Videos Of Brutality Against Animals

Someone just posted this Youtube video “8 Horrorszenarien, die sich in Europa täglich ereignen.” (8 horror scenes which occur on a daily basis in Europe. Viewer discretion advised!) on a social media website. It contains several short clips showing humans committing brutal acts against various farm animals. The publisher asks viewers to share this video to spread the truth.

This video is published by a registered non-profit, private society Animal Equality Germany located in Stuttgart, Germany. According to their website, this group also engages to free animals kept in captivity. Their motto: “We work for a better world for all animals” and “Animals are living creatures and not foodstuff”.

Notes On The Video

1. None of the scenes shown in the above video has any kind of sourcing or attribution. Were these scenes actually shot in Europe or do they really occur on a daily basis as claimed?
2. The video does not tell where, when or under what circumstances these clips were shot
3. Where these clips doctored?
4. The video suggests that these acts of brutality occurred on farms or in the meat industry, but is this true?
5. I posted questions about this video on the social media website like is this movie doctored or how much of this video is representative of the industry. Someone answered this was not doctored, he had seen other, similar movies.

Shock Propaganda By Animal Rights Activists

This would not be the first time that a doctored shock video has been distributed by animal rights activists.

It should be left to prosecutors to indict perpetrators of crimes against animals.

Propaganda videos like that are as bad as any enemy propaganda videos distributed by totalitarian dictators in the past. I would compare such propaganda videos to e.g. the infamous German Nazi film “Ewiger Jude” (Eternal Jew movie of 1940).

Animal Rights Activists Have To Pay Millions To Circus For Phony Claims

Perhaps one of the least noticed news of past week (5/12 - 5/18/2014) was a brief notice on page 4 of the Wall Street Journal dated  5/18/2014 (U.S. edition) titled “Legal Settlement/Animal Rights Groups Pay Circus Producers Millions”.

“A settlement reached between animal rights groups and the producers of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus serves as a cautionary tale about the consequences of making an allegation in federal court that you have trouble backing up.

The Humane Society of the United States and other animal-rights groups have paid Feld Entertainment a combined $15.75 million to settle allegations by the company that the groups and their lawyers bribed a former circus employee to make up allegations that Feld abused Asian elephants in its circus.

The settlement announced Thursday puts to rest what a federal judge and legal observers described as an extraordinary, 14-year legal battle that began with claims of animal abuse but developed into a costly embarrassment for some of the nation’s leading animal rights organizations.

The two sides reached a deal as discovery was ramping up in Feld’s civil racketeering case against the groups.

Feld brought the case after it emerged that animal rights groups had paid close to $200,000 to Tom Rider, a former elephant cleaner and feeder who claimed the company had abused its elephants in violation of the Endangered Species Act.

The animal rights litigants were already on the hook for Feld’s attorney’s fees after a federal judge last year slapped the groups and their counsel with an unprecedented penalty for making “frivolous,” “vexatious,” and “groundless” claims in court against Feld.”

Humane Society and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were the two groups specifically named in the articles above.

1. Bogus, frivolous litigation is to be expected from fanatics.
2. People should always cautiously evaluate claims, in particular in form of images, made by animal rights activists
3. Hopefully, donors to such big name animal rights groups like Humane Society or PETA will wake up
4. We all (animal rights activists included) should be thankful that the owners of these famous circuses fought this long legal battle

This topic of poor elephants and Orcas seems to be quite popular in these times. The title of this article speaks for itself.

To do good by animals seems to be just that has caught humans’ flight of fancy.

Free All Pets Held By Humans

If you follow the arguments presented by these editors and also animal rights activists you would have to by the same token free all pets currently held by humans for pleasure, entertainment, and companionship.

What about dogs or horses kept as pets, which are intelligent animals too and they used to be roaming around in herds with social behavior etc.

What about intelligent cats?

I am not sure how many animal activists, who are so fashionable and en vogue these days, sincerely propose to free all pets.

What Is Wrong With Keeping Elephants Or Orcas In Captivity?

Briefly, nothing as long as the animals are not harmed, treated fairly, and with respect. Captivity is not per se doing harm to animals.

On the contrary, like with dogs we may learn more about these animals and we may evolve together.

Why do humans condemn animals to live in the wild?

A Prayer For Animals Used In Experimentation

Introduction

A tribute to guinea pigs and other laboratory animals! W should be very thankful to these animals!

Of course, I disagree with animal rights activists, especially the fanatic kind, to prohibit all and any animal experimentation.

I believe, researchers have over the past decades tried hard to reduce the number of animals subjected to experimentation. However, still millions of animals die or suffer each year in the name of science and medical research to the benefit of humanity but also to the benefit of animals.

It is only a matter of time that humans will develop computer or biological models or other means to to avoid or supplant animal experimentation and end animal suffering. I would bet that within the next 25 years, humans will be able to reduce or largely eliminate animal experiments or animals will have to suffer little or not at all.

Prayer

Every human ought to be very grateful to each of the animals that suffer or die each day so that we humans can learn more about life and health.

We all pray that researchers make fast progress finding viable alternatives to animal experimentation or to reduce suffering of animals. We pray that our political leaders support this progress as best as they can.

We are all God’s creatures on this planet! We need to respect one another!

This is the language of Nazis. Propaganda of the worst kind!

Voltaire Fought Fanaticism

Appears the great French philosopher did not succeed in his lifetime nor beyond. Voltaire said it best that fanatics can not be reasoned with.

Enlightenment aimed at exposing superstition and intolerance of any kind. However,  as Voltaire had feared before he died, humans are slow learners and those in power like it that way.

Even in our days, we still encounter everywhere fanatics of all kinds who actually do or would perhaps go so far as to kill another human being for their fanatical views.

Fanatics Are Violent By Nature

Animal rights fanatics are very intolerant and so self righteous.

Their language and intentions are violent against other humans. When, e.g.  they talk about hunters you get the picture.

In the past, they have resorted to vandalism, sabotage, and arson.

What distinguishes Muslim fanatics of e.g. the Osama bin Laden kind and animal rights fanatics? Nothing!

Appeasement

Do our governments appease animal rights fanatics, because otherwise they would commit more terrorism as they already have?

Just In Case

Most reasonable people probably can agree on following:

1. Of course, all animals and plants should be treated with respect and dignity. They are God’s creations.
2. Wanton killing or killing for fun of animals is deplorable.
3. Excessive destruction of plants for no good reason is deplorable
