That Meta is immediately asking for a method of payment (if confirmed) is not such a great idea to get started, in my opinion.
If it is useful and if the benefits significantly outweigh the disadvantages, why not.
What about piecemeal adoption? Apparently, the user has control over how much the user wants to share etc.
