I bet this happens also or will happen soon with other smart wearable devices and smartphones! This is only the beginning! This technology is still kind of experimental!
Generally speaking, if we want smart technology to support us in our daily lives, one has to allow continuous recording of our activities.
Like police officers' body cams this may make you a nicer person interacting with others. Smile, don't curse! Maybe this is just one benefit.
The concern that it may reduce interaction with others seems to be overblown.
According to this product review below, the new watch features seem to be kind of inconvenient/cumbersome to operate and allow only for a few seconds of recording.
" ... its watches will now be able to process live audio and transcribe what was said. ...
Apple forged ahead in this area because it was afraid that another company, such as OpenAI, would soon introduce a competitive AI device of its own. ...
Already, recording devices have impacted the way people behave in real life, studies have shown, as has social media and data surveillance culture. Knowing you could be recorded at any time has a dampening effect on how you interact with others and engage in self-expression. ..."
This almost a silly if not counterproductive example for watches that cost $399 or $799.
