"Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a localized ceasefire in the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky, Ukraine, brokered by first lady Melania Trump, the White House said Friday.
The truce is set to begin Oct. 29 and is meant to let humanitarian aid in and move civilians out through a designated safe passageway. Melania Trump said the remaining residents are mostly elderly and need medicine, food, and clean water.
The White House said the first lady and a representative worked directly with both governments on the terms. Oleshky, once a city of about 24,000 on the Dnipro River, fell on the first day of the 2022 invasion. ..."
