Would Texas anti-drag law ban Mrs. Doubtfire? (Editorial). Really!

That is a very nice and dubious try by the lefty Houston Chronicle!

You may want to read up about the plot of the 1993 Mrs. Doubtfire movie on Wikipedia.
Here, a male actor became costumed as an elderly British nanny so he could be together with his children after a divorce, because his wife was granted sole custody over their children! He did not want to pretend to be a woman!

Historically, men dressed as women were kind of common on stage or at events etc. for show purposes geared towards adults.

It is an entirely different matter whether drag queens are invited into public schools to be close to school children! E.g. were their backgrounds checked for pedophilia?

"The lack of clarity in state Rep. Nate Schatzline's anti-drag law would allow for prosecutorial discretion and selective enforcement. "
