The dictator of China Xi Jinping is up for reelection this Fall by the Communist Party of China! He has issued unveiled threats should Pelosi visit Taiwan. Will he now back down or go for a show down?
A physical invasion of Taiwan may not be necessary. An effective maritime or areal blockade of Taiwan will be no less severe.
In the immediate aftermath of senile and crazy 82 year old Pelosi's irresponsible visit to Taiwan for no good reason other than to collect a Taiwanese medal, China appears to setup a maritime blockade of Taiwan on all four sides of the island disguised as military drills, execises, and maneuvers using live ammunition/rockets etc.
Why the President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen, did not politely decline the visit of Nancy Pelosi is another good question.
How will this affect the island and the rest of the world depending e.g. on Taiwan's semiconductors? How long will this blockade last and how intensive will this blockade be?
