Incredible, the famous Institute for Advanced Study publishes this legalize and propaganda and demagoguery! This is a very long article!
This is not the first time, I have blogged here about the IAS (click label below)
The IAS also changed the originally radical wording of the introduction to this article from 12/15/2022 to 12/16/2022: Originally, the IAS emailed this wording in their newsletter to me and others (see also screen print below):
"Beyond the justified outrage over the Dobbs ruling, the tension between law and life was an already existing legal affair with complex, and often unresolved, debates about the boundaries of the natural and the artificial, the social and the technological. The articulation of fetal rights brings about foundational puzzles within the domain of legal persons, deliberations on which may form opportunities to reorganize life in new ways—albeit vigilantly— including those that account for reproductive justice."
To keep it short and simple: "Fetal personhood" is a big red herring, a legalistic fantasy, lots of hot air! When does human life begin, if not at conception? If human life begins at conception, then it is precious and deserves our protection! That a fetus is not a person is kind of obvious, this does not need an article with with over 1,800 words written by a professor (an IAS member) and a lecturer, both from Australia!
"... Besides important debates on the constitutional order, the erosion of women’s reproductive rights, and the de-democratization of American society, the Dobbs v. Jackson case also reignites deliberations on fetal personhood. ..."
