Congress Proposes More Than $44 Billion for Ukraine for 2023 on top of about $50b spent in 2022. A dangerous gamble!

Update of 12/30/2022: Forgot to add this article: U.S. Aid to Ukraine Eclipses Most World Military Budgets The $113 billion in U.S. aid to Ukraine has eclipsed the annual military budget of every country in the world except the United States and China.

This begs the major question of how much is too much financial and military support and other assistance by the U.S. for the Ukraine?

How much more pressure does the U.S. want to put on Putin the Terrible and his regime?

Are there are any serious peace or cease fire negotiations going on in the background between Russia, Ukraine and Western countries than the general public has not yet learnt very much about it. What are the goals? How realistic are they?

E.g. regime change in Russia would be a terrible and very dangerous goal! There is little doubt in my mind that the now elderly Putin the Terrible will not politically survive his tremendous miscalculations and adventurism. However, who will come next in Russia? If the West pushes too hard probably another hardliner!

The Russo-Ukrainian War is already a World War III by any other name! The Spanish Civil War of 1936-39 was one of the precursors of World War II. The international involvement in this Civil War has some resemblance!

Others have called the Russo-Ukrainian war a proxy war of the U.S. against Russia!

Perhaps more caution and a little more restraint is urgently advisable!

"In 2022, the Biden administration and the U.S. Congress have directed nearly $50 billion in assistance to Ukraine, which includes humanitarian, financial, and military support, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a German research institute." (Source)
