At the end of the first quarter of the 21st century, Western countries ought to make a decision on how to go forward with Russia and China! Will Western countries more closely join with other like minded countries (especially India, South Korea, Brazil) around the world and isolate Russia and China?
Faster and better human progress may depend on it! Russia and China are the dominant evil forces posing unacceptable obstacles and threats to a better world. With new technologies like AI, robotics, genetics, or nuclear fusion becoming reality, our human civilization is becoming more vulnerable and interdependent! Thus, bullies like Russia or China can not be any longer tolerated! These bullies are distractions!
Western countries tried hard to integrate these two dictatorships in the global economy and global community! This began famously with the opening in 1972 towards China by President Nixon and Secretary Kissinger, but so far the results are not very convincing. On the contrary.
Anybody who believes that Western countries depend on the economies or natural resources of Russia and China is quite mistaken! E.g. India is a market as big as Chinas!
Putin the Terrible waged another war of aggression, this time against the Ukraine in his efforts to restore the former Soviet Union empire.
The Communist Party of China has opted for a dictator for life and a more aggressive foreign policy. Hong Kong was usurped in utter violation of an international agreement (one country, two systems)! The threats against Taiwan are getting louder!
The people of Russia and China people have to make a choice to continue to live under the joke of a militaristic and aggressive dictatorship or choose to live with more freedoms and democracy!
P.S. Perhaps a hopeful sign: Since the Russo-Ukrainian war started over 10 months ago, many Russians have left Russia. There are also reports that a significant number of Chinese billionaires and millionaires have left China. There were recent massive protests in China forcing the CPC to change course on the ridiculous zero Covid policy!
