NASA Science Mission Director Thomas Zurbuchen (age 53): Why I’m leaving NASA and the job I’ve loved most

Recommendable! Bravo! This is leadership by example! I hope, he did not have chose to quit for health reasons other than stress of the job.

You only wish some of our worst elected politicians of the gerontocracy in the U.S. (e.g. Biden (80 year old), Pelosi (82), Schumer (72), McConnell (80) had such leadership skills! 😊 That is also why term limits e.g. for all members of the U.S. Congress is such an important and necessary reform.

"... As much as I have enjoyed this, every leader has weaknesses. Over time, their weaknesses weigh more heavily on an organization and it becomes time for someone with fresh ideas to step in. ..."

Why I’m leaving NASA and the job I’ve loved most Stepping down well is an important leadership skill — and one that is rarely named or valued.
