Again a very deceptive and misleading headline by Vox news outlet! Disinformation writ large! It was also quoted today by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. This is an example of shoddy journalism!
The early thing that spread early and quickly this year is much more testing for flu:
"Over the month of November, about twice as many flu tests were done at clinical labs nationwide as during the same period last year (about 540,000 versus 265,000)."
"Over the month of November, about twice as many flu tests were done at clinical labs nationwide as during the same period last year (about 540,000 versus 265,000)."
It appears, the hysterical article does not mention it, but I suspect that also the massively increased now routine and frequent monitoring of waste water since the Covid-19 pandemic also contributed to this increase.
Then we have the high probability of individuals confusing flu and Covid-19:
"Flu hospitalizations have been off the charts and are rising quickly. In a press conference Monday, CDC director Rochelle Walensky said there have already been 78,000 flu hospitalizations this season, or nearly 17 out of every 100,000 Americans. That’s “the highest we’ve seen at this time of year in a decade,” she said."
Junk chart! I did not double check, but the chart appears originated indeed from the CDC!
