This is a serious matter! Is gender dysphoria a new serious medical issue or more one of those short lived societal fads and medical obsessions or even charlatanry? I am afraid the latter!
I blogged here recently about one of the terrifying euphemisms of our time: gender affirming care/treatment! In 2021, 282 teen age girls between 13-17 underwent double mastectomy! Let this sink in!
"... Some have attributed the youth transgender trend to social contagion, citing the popularity of trans videos on TikTok and other social media platforms, while others have pointed to school programming on gender identity issues for young children. ..."
There are also hints that the transgender treatment has become big business for the medical profession, hospitals etc.:
"... The soaring rates of medicalization and transgender affiliation coincided with the Obama administration pushing insurance providers to cover transgender-related medical procedures, which prompted a massive expansion in public and private insurance coverage for gender transitions, including for children, according to Reuters. More than half of states cover the procedures through Medicaid, and only nine states explicitly ban Medicaid coverage for transgender procedures. ..."
According to Reuters nonsense: "Thousands of children in the United States now openly identify as a gender different from the one they were assigned at birth [???], their numbers surging amid growing recognition of transgender identity and rights even as they face persistent prejudice and discrimination.
As the number of transgender children has grown, so has their access to gender-affirming care, much of it provided at scores of clinics at major hospitals. ...
Gender-affirming care for youths takes several forms, from social recognition of a preferred name and pronouns to medical interventions such as hormone therapy and, sometimes, surgery. ...
The Komodo analysis of insurance claims found 56 genital surgeries among patients ages 13 to 17 with a prior gender dysphoria diagnosis from 2019 to 2021."
