I have little doubt that within the next 5-15 years we have very capable AI doctors who can perfectly and successfully consult most adults with almost any medical issues.
Based on reported symptoms and/or diagnostic results, AI doctors will suggest follow up, treatment options, best course of treatment etc. just like a human doctor (generalist or specialist).
AI doctors will be available anytime, 24 hours, any major spoken language! No appointments necessary! Avoiding some of the quacks/charlatans among the medical doctors made easier or less likely! Less time wasted!
The education and training of human doctors will undergo dramatic changes in the coming years! There is a good chance, we will need many fewer human doctors in the future!
The prestige, status, or glory once enjoyed by so many medical doctors will be no more or will be reserved for far fewer doctors.
