This seems to be a bit of a sensationalist popular science article about a rare event in nature, i.e. parthenogenisis! However, in these LGBTQ transgend/fluid gender confused times anything questioning the primary sexual reproduction attracts attention!
"... Whether parthenogenesis contributes meaningfully to the condor population or can be exploited to aid in the animals’ conservation remains to be seen, experts say. Both of the parthenotes were relatively small and died before becoming sexually mature, at 1.9 and 7.9 years old. Condors can live into their 50s. ..."
From the abstract:
"Parthenogenesis is a relatively rare event in birds, documented in unfertilized eggs from columbid, galliform, and passerine females with no access to males. In the critically endangered California condor, parentage analysis conducted utilizing polymorphic microsatellite loci has identified [only] two instances of parthenogenetic development from the eggs of two females in the captive breeding program, each continuously housed with a reproductively capable male with whom they had [previously] produced offspring. ..."
