Just read Jeffrey D. Sachs opinion piece “A Nation Of Videots” (published 10/11/2011, but republished by Project Syndicate only a few days ago). This entire article by this prominent economist is beyond silly. It is so dim witted! I even refuse to comment anymore.
What is particularly disturbing that such a man is “... Special Advisor to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the Millennium Development Goals” (emphasis added).
Dismal Economists
Anyone, who follows my blog will notice that I have written a number of critical posts on various prominent economists and about economics itself.
Too many economists are severely ideologically biased (mostly socialist)
Too many economists are willing mouthpieces of government expansion and control
The Great Depression and the Great Recession would not have happened were our economists competent and knowledgeable
And so on ...
