Just read “So, this exists: A working car has been 3D-printed out of carbon fiber plastic”. A small, self propelled vehicle manufacturer in Phoenix, AZ (Local Motors) introduced a 3D printed two seater car made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
The car was printed in 40 hours. It is considerably lighter than any conventional steel or aluminum vehicle.

We could be on the brink to customized car manufacturing in your backyard. Perhaps gone are the days when you needed huge and expensive assembly lines etc. to produce cars.
The cost of car manufacturing should come down significantly.
3D printing probably requires less labor and so on ...
