Empfehlenswert! Gut das es eine politische Partei wie die AfD in Deutschland gibt!

Very recommendable! Let the truth come out about those notorious propaganda cases, which agitators and demagogues keep repeating they are showcasing excessive police violence against black Americans!
An Open Letter: Scientists and Racial Justice
More academic agitators and demagogues are coming out of the woodwork! These academics are dangerous zealots and fanatics of the cult of racism!
This open letter is signed by two professors from two different U.S. universities! This only goes to show that professors can be as stupid as the rest of us!

Three dozen alien civilizations may be advanced enough to communicate with us
Only 3 dozen? Could this be a serious underestimate? Perhaps, it is us who are not advanced enough to detect and understand the communication of alien civilizations! Remember, there are 10^21 stars in the universe.

This was apparently the week when several women made history in the U.S. military!

Astronomers detect regular rhythm of radio waves, with origins unknown
An unusual regular pattern of radio signals from only 500 million light years away! We are not alone in the universe! "There are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in space, or about 10 raised to the 21 (10^21 power, roughly." (Source) There is a more than one in a million chance that other life exists out there somewhere ...

Barnes the Art Collector
Very recommendable! Albert C. Barnes, an American eccentric who built one of the largest private art collections of modern art ever! He collected the work of dozens of artists while they were still little known. His way of combining or juxtaposing works of arts was thought provoking. He also featured African sculptures and other works of art like no one before. His endeavors to teach art to the public and his workers were ahead of his time. As someone who lived in Philadelphia, PA before, this man is fascinating!

Do you know cetaceans? Meet the world's smartest animals behind primates
The first part is very disturbing! It shows that animals are killing a prey intentionally slowly and make the prey suffer for an extend period of time! I am not sure I have ever seen such a cruel behavior in the animal world.

3D printed brain model shows potential for drug testing
I bet a 3D printed brain has much more potential than just for drug testing! How about replacing injured or diseased brain tissue and so on ...
"To address these problems, researchers in China and the US have demonstrated a 3D tissue construct that sustains a population of neuronal cells for four weeks. The team used a cell-laden bioink to print a stack of three grid-shaped layers on an array of electrodes. Spaces between and within each layer allowed nutrients to reach the cells, while the electrode array measured the cells’ electrophysiological signals."

Apple Pay and iOS App Store under formal antitrust probe in Europe
Ah those foolish Europeans! There are plenty of alternatives to overpriced and overhyped Apple! Why does Europe not have any tech companies like Google etc.?
Since 2014, the European Commissioner for Competition is Margrethe Vestager. She has initiated multiple times stupid proceedings against U.S. tech companies! This time it is probably not different! One Simple Reason Why Trump Has A Good Chance To Be Reelected
I venture to guess, Trump attracts and activates voters who usually stay away from presidential elections! Sometimes voters like these have been referred to as the forgotten man/woman in the past.
These voters are very difficult to predict by opinion polls or election outcome forecasters.
Given the notoriously low voter turnout at U.S. presidential elections of around 50-55% since 1972 and the few swing and competitive states in play, moving a few voters can mean all the difference.
Whether sleepy Joseph has this kind of attraction is highly doubtful!
Not to mention that President Trump has a good chance to capture some of the black American votes much to the panic of the Democratic Party, which so much depends on these votes to win.

Retinal imaging goes high resolution
Good news! Probably this will allow e.g. earlier detection of age-related macular degeneration.
"The EPFL team developed a radically different technique for imaging retinal cells with high contrast and high resolution. Rather than sending light through the pupil, the new technique, which they have dubbed transscleral optical phase imaging (TOPI), illuminates the white part of the eye (the sclera). This tactic greatly increases the contrast of many retinal structures ... A third advantage stems from the fact that the team image the reflected light from the retina using a conventional transpupillary advanced optics (AO) camera system. This system corrects eye aberrations in real time, enabling them to obtain cellular-level resolution images."

Can Software Performance Engineering Save Us From the End of Moore’s Law?
The article is mediocre and scratches only the surface, but the general idea that better software can more efficiently utilize existing hardware is worth pursuing. The accompanying research paper seems a bit odd too! Perusing the abstract of this paper, you get the impression that it is about hardware than software. Anyway!
"One performance engineering strategy is to “parallelize” code. Most existing software has been designed using decades-old models that assume processors can only perform one operation at a time. That’s inefficient because modern processors can do many calculations at the same time by using multiple cores on each chip, and there is parallelism built into each core as well."
