Incredible! Like the population size of a small town in the UK! Whoever had this great idea! Or why did this get out of hand?
And taxpayers, who can not easily afford a vacation are paying for it.
What are hotel room rates in the UK now given this government created shortage of hotel rooms?
Google search result: "The UK government is actively working to reduce the number of asylum seekers housed in hotels, but there are still tens of thousands in such accommodation. In March 2025, there were around 32,000 asylum seekers in hotels. This number is down from a peak of over 56,000 in September 2023."
