Among many other things, Mr. Carlin mentioned that the water consumption of dishwashers and washing machines is regulated. This explains why a typical consumer dishwasher needs significantly more than an hour to finish! Any restaurant with such a slow dishwasher would go bankrupt! So why are restaurants allowed to use high pressure, high temperature and steam to clean dishes in minutes?
