U.S. Nursing Homes Must Boost Staffing Under First-Ever National Standards. Really!

Looks like a gigantic big government proposal by the senile, demented and corrupt 46th President!

Most likely, it will also do more harm than good! Lot's of extra bureaucracy! It will probably reduce the number of available residencies at nursing homes.

"A first-of-its-kind rule would require U.S. nursing homes that participate in Medicare and Medicaid to maintain minimum staffing levels.
The Biden administration proposal calls for at least 0.55 hours of care from a registered nurse and 2.45 hours of care from a nurse aide per resident a day. An R.N. would have to be on-site at all times, too. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services estimates that about 75% of nursing homes would have to strengthen their staffing. The industry called the requirements burdensome amid a labor shortage and said that some facilities will go out of business. The rule would take effect in stages after a 60-day comment period."

"... Facilities facing hardships recruiting workers despite a good-faith hiring effort can get a time-limited hardship exemption, according to officials.  ..."
