Today, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health: Global Health NOW published following "Datapoint". Almost everything about the content is false or very dubious!
The underlying source for this "Datapoint" is this web page Get Behind the Wheel
The relevant chart from the source web page looks like that
- The study was limited to only the state, i.e. Ohio
- Only a very few age groups were actually considered with the oldest age group ending in age 24
- As one can clearly see from the chart, by the end of the first 12 months and by age 21-24 all age groups are very comparable! So age 18 is very catchy, but misleading like sweet 18.
- E.g. omitted were older individuals obtaining a drivers license in the U.S. for the first time like for example immigrants. As an immigrant from Germany, I obtained my first U.S. driver license only at the tender age of 35.
Conclusion: Shoddy work!
