On the one hand, we have probably a very significant undercount e.g. asymptomatic cases (how many are there actually) and home testing etc. If there is indeed a very substantial undercount it would also stress that the global SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 pandemic is a fairly harmless (comparable to a severe cold or flu).
On the other hand, we may also have a significant overcount. However, the German Minister of Health (not exactly the best source given his ineptitude and fearmongering) just revealed on a German talk show that he could not provide accurate case numbers because e.g. of double counting. How significant is this issue?
